To loosen up your hips try sitting on the floor and sliding your rib cage from one side to the other and front to back. A lot of hip movement comes from that isolation but with moving the bottom half rather than the top.
The main tip I have for heels is to move more with sliding the foot along rather than with a heel to toe motion and to keep your weight forward. It helps if you can practice with someone to hold onto for dear life.
