I'm wondering about dancing. Not about being really good at it.

I'm kind of a stiff person so it was hard for me to unlock my hips. Does anyone have any tips on really simple dancing and in heels? I always feel awkward.

Fashion forum? Didn't know where else.

Practice. I usually wear 4 inch heels to clubs, and I really don't even think about it anymore.

Strapy heels that are comfortable are a must. Keep your weight on the balls of your feet and let the music carry you away.

To loosen up your hips try sitting on the floor and sliding your rib cage from one side to the other and front to back.  A lot of hip movement comes from that isolation but with moving the bottom half rather than the top.

The main tip I have for heels is to move more with sliding the foot along rather than with a heel to toe motion and to keep your weight forward.  It helps if you can practice with someone to hold onto for dear life.  :P

I'm not sure what exactly you're asking for other than that, but feel free to let me know if I can help at all.  Dancing is my addiction, and I'd love to help if I can.

Maybe a dance instructor would be able to help with practical tips.  I am thinking of taking salsa lessons or similar so will post anything relevant.

Practice makes perfect!

(By the way I am not trying to turn this into super bowl discussion because I did not watch the super bowl  ::) )

Dancing in heels, at least the way I want to dance, is really hard.
Mostly because I feel like I might break the heel.
