Best way to hide my blossoming chest?

Hi,

I'm now some months into HRT and my chest has grown sufficiently that I will soon be unable to hide it through loose T-shirts (36A).  I'm thinking I'll just start wearing a sports bra to keep them disguised for the moment (I don't plan on coming out until next year).  Does anyone have any particular recommendations on brand, or on this issue in general?

Thanks.

I recommend you wear a really tight shirt or top under the baggy one.
If you use sports bras pick one that won't stick out because of color contrast.

Show em to the world!!!

:D

Tight shirts under larger shirt helps. There are also bras that don't have cups and turn the girls into a uniboob, they are like a strand of tissue, it helps to hide them. I use those plenty before going full time.

A light compression shirt under a loose t-shirt. Underarmour makes some so does underworks, that way it just looks like an under shirt.

Right now I'm doing what Bird suggested and showing em to the world but the day is quickly approaching that I'm just going to wear a sports bra.

I found some great undershirts at Target for hiding the breasts. There are a few styles to choose from just buy at least a size smaller than you normally would. I bought a medium and it works pretty good and I have a 41" band measurement (46 across the nips). I've tried some other compression shirts but they really make me overheat.

May I ask why you're waiting till next year to come out? I would kind of think that you should have come out before HRT because you needed to be prepared for the changes your body would go through

I don't plan on coming out for another year either. I want to spend as little time as possible in "the middle" so I keep pretending to be a guy to the outside world until I start having problems passing as a guy while trying to. I think to many people rush the "full time" thing  and suffer needlessley for it but it is in no way my place to tell them what's best for them.

I reread your post, Kate, right before posting and I did catch that you said "come out" not "go full time". I kinda like the idea of being on HRT for a while before coming out to many people as well since the more feminine you apper, the more people will feel that it's the right decission for you. All in all though, it's a very personal decission for all of us and it's out choice to make.

The middle sucked badly and played head games with me. I was out pretty much everywhere excpet at work. But I knew it would get to a point that I just couln't hide the changes anymore. My beard dissapearing, my chest etc. It just seems like hell to me to alter your body and hide it for that long

I second the compression tank.  I where the Underworks, bought them from Amazon.  Then I let my polos hang baggy.  Sure, it looks like I have some moobage, but I did before hormone therapy.  Nobody has noticed.  Now, when I didn't wear the compression tank and an athletic fit polo, that's when I got a weird stare at my chest from my male cube buddy across from me.:)

I found that button up shirts and shirts with pockets on the chest were what I felt the most safe in. Also going a little baggy doesn't hurt, but you already know that.

Me and my age it doesn't matter.   I am large and there are still the older males that are much bigger than my B cups and the shapes of them are not Sumo!  I will be with them next week, the hairy shower scene is ugly when the events I go to consists of 90 % of middle aged and over males in my area of interest.  I volunteered to help host this event?  You smaller and younger ones will have to get a sports bra.  My doc said to start on bras and panties soon because he said that I am more well developed that most of his MtF patients at this time on HRT, really!

I should have been clearer when I said "coming out", as I really meant going full time.  I am out to my wife, parents, in-laws, and a lot of close friends who know I am on HRT.

We are moving to California in the new year having both secured our dream jobs.  My company think they are hiring a man, so my plan is to work in this role for 6 months or so, so I'm known first and foremost for my abilities, rather than you know what ;)  Since I'll be working remotely for 3 out of every 4 weeks (my company is Silicon Valley, but we'll be living in SoCal) I think this is doable.

Additionally I am trying to make the transition as slow as possible for the sake of my marriage which I am trying at all costs to maintain.  I of course understand that maintaining this male persona will be harder to harder to keep up, and that my expectations maybe unrealistic, but this is my plan, and I'm sticking to it!

Absolutely nothing wrong w/ur plan. Everyone knows what will work best... :)

I'm a 36A/almost B and most days at work I wear a tank top or tee over my bra and a button down shirt. If the shirt has a busy pattern it helps hide more than if it is solid. Other days I wear a sports bra under a tight tee or tank top with something loose fitting over that. It works well-much better than I would have imagined a year ago.

See THAT makes a lot more sense to me. I was in your shoes a few years ago and when i was in that awkward transition to fulltime stage I wore tight sports bras and loose shirts at work. The rest of the time I was me. In fact my name had been changed and HR was instructed of a target date so even that hadn't been released until I was ready.

Today is my first day with a sports bra and baggy t-shirt. Total non-issue plus having some suport is wonderful, walking down stairs isn't painful anymore.

I've been using shaper cami's to keep the girls under control (think girdle for your top) under loose dress heavy cotton shirts. They are cut for a woman's body and are not as restrictive as tops made for men. I know one girl doing the compression tank route and complains about the tightness. I don't know her size. I am an almost B right now. The heavy cotton dress shirts help with dealing with the always freezing AC at work which really hits me hard now

In the summer I have been wearing a wide shoulder straps sport bra and sharper Cami's in the winter.
These have worked fine for the last 8 months, but now I am starting to show no matter what I do.
Oh well I am tired of the charade.
