Cops: No sex charges against jail guard accused by transgender inmate

The officer also had a disciplinary hearing Thursday, but Prisons Commissioner Louis Giorla hasn't acted on the hearing's recommendations yet, spokeswoman Shawn Hawes said.

http://blogs.philadelphiaweekly.com/phillynow/2011/09/23/breaking-corrections-officer-cleared-in-prisoner-assault-case/The investigation launched into allegations of sexual assault of an inmate by a corrections officer at Riverside Correctional Facility, the city's only female prison, was closed yesterday, according to Shawn Hayes, spokesperson for Philadelphia prisons system.
Last month, 23-year-old Jovanie Saldana accused the unnamed officer of forcing her into oral sex. Saldana is a transgendered woman—she is biologically male, but has reportedly dressed and identified as a woman since she was 12 years old.
Authorities didn't know that Saldena was biologically a male until she made allegations of abuse.
