Ass pain

Had my first shot today, wasnt expecting the nurse to just cram it in my ass so rough (lol).
Couple of hours later it felt like someone had beaten me over the cheek with a bat.

Typically how long does this feeling last?

It's not because the nurse was rough, it's because the intramuscular injection creates a pressure inside the muscle where none has ever been before, so it takes time for the muscle to adjust.

It can take about as long as a bruise, cause it kind of like a bruise on the muscle itself.

For me, I am sometimes very sore (up to "it hurts to move!") for up to 2 days after my shots, and a little bit sore to the touch (that is to say, can't put a lot of pressure on it cause it kinda hurts) for up to a week after.

if the pain persist or if you just don't like it, have them put it in your arm. That's just as effective since it is a time release shot. I have mine done in the arm every week. My numbers are the same as someone getting the shot in the butt.

Plus having it done in the upper arm, in my opinion, is nowhere near as painful.

I do my own shots, in the leg, but I'm on Nebido, which means a sizable volume to the shot, so I have to split it in half and do both legs every three months....
I don't necessarily recommend it...

When I give IM injections at school (I'm training as a vet tech), I was instructed to rub the injection site vigorously right after to help spread out the injected meds, otherwise they form a hard, painful lump. Not sure if that actually works, since I can't ask my patients if they feel better rubbed vs. not rubbed, but it might be worth a try.

That's worked for me pretty well. I didn't do that the first couple times and it lumped up and hurt. Now I do that every time. Also when I did get a lump I did massage and a heating pad on the spot (someone online who said they were a nurse suggested it. Figured it couldn't hurt). But like Miniar I do my shot in the leg so I dunno if it would work for you.
