Are you on fb? If so, discuss.

Tammy Hope

Yup. Many local friends, many trans friends (several of them Susan's members but far from all), not a few lesbian friends for some reason, and a handful of other folks

I had hoped it would be a vehicle -along with all that- for networking with other trans people in my area but that's been an almost completely dry well so far.
Disclaimer: due to serious injury, most of my posts are made via Dragon Dictation which sometimes butchers grammar and mis-hears my words. I'm also too lazy to closely proof-read which means some of my comments will seem strange.

Who doesn't have a Facebook? I use mine all the time. It's nice to be able to network with friends, and keep in touch with old friends. If anyone here wants to add me, look up Autumn West.

I DON'T.

It's a tool that has wrecked lives due to misuse.  :(

Yeah, my boyfriend saw my comments on HOT JOCKS and we had a long arguement and drama. Since he apparently watches everything I do on fb. wow, just wow.

Beni76

Yes I do but, still in my boy name. Some of my friends on it are Trans and others are mostly connected to my partner that passed away earlier this year.
I am thinking of changing the name to the one I use on here, not a biggie just Ben to Beni. It may raise a few questions lol, only one way to find out ;)
I also have links to one of the support groups and that can be useful to keep up to date

I DON'T.

Ditto.  I had one, but never really felt comfortable using it.  Eventually I closed it down, though I guess it actually takes some effort to delete an account.

No, and I'm not a twit

Why do people do this thing?

It is just so boring
IMO

Cindy, walk outside and talk

I had one but I closed it soon after.

I got one primarily to organize meeting days for when my group gets together and roleplays. Actually, that's still what I use it for primarily, but it's fun to talk with friends on it and see what's going on with people's lives, not to mention I get a lot of news off of it (it's how I found out my friends' mother died, for instance). I'm also thinking of writing a "coming out" letter through it since it's probably the easiest way to get the message across to everyone I care about.

I still have my boy name on it but I WAS bold enough to change my gender on it. Well, the gender is hidden, but if I change my picture or something it will say "changed her picture" and when my mom was looking me up it listed me as her daughter, so that's a start :).

Also it's not exactly easy to "walk and talk" in my area. There are no sidewalks and most of my friends live a good 10 - 30 minutes away by car, and I can't drive yet (I REALLY need to get my permit). Unless you have friends who live on your block or you can drive and have a car, good luck "walking and talking" here :P.

If anyone is interested in friending me just PM me.

i use facebook.

Met up with cousins from Italy and Germany...relatives I probably would have never met.

I obtained a 65K a year job by networking on facebook. My facebook friend was friends with a Liberty Mutual supervisor. Got my foot in the door and was offered a job 3 weeks later.

I use it to keep in contact by sharing pictures with my family versus mailing or emailing.

So for me, it def has it's advantages.

My FB is Annah Maria Hinman if interested

well, that's nice. Considering i was your only friend on your facebook when u had it and up until you deactivated your profile, I would assume you tried to hack my account then. Glad you don't have any regrets about it. And I'm glad you are no longer on facebook if your idea of trying to break the boredom is by trying to hack my (or other people's) account (wont work....i change my password every 3 weeks).

Bragging about trying to hack someone else's account isn't worth bragging about.

In that way, it's like any tool, like a knife for instance.
That allusion would probably fit the internet in general rather than facebook itself. Facebook in this case would be an accessory or add-on to the knife. Just saying ^-^.

I have to agree with Annah on this one. Trying to hack someone's account, regardless of who they are or if they deserve it or not, is just not right. It's an invasion of privacy, or at least an attempted invasion. Nobody has the right to invade another person's privacy and nobody has the right to try. It's just plain wrong.

I have a FB account.
A number of the members of susans are on my list of friends. I am not hard to find so I won't post any contact info here.

For me FB is a good tool. I have all the games except one of them completly blocked so all I see is actuall updates on my friends.
It is a usefull tool for maintaining contact with a large percentage of my friends and family.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

EDIT: SORRY if this message is to well from my heart for you XD just smite me and get over it !

Zoey,

Me saying you hacking other people's accounts just because you were "bored" is not me be being high and mighty.

People do not respond favorably when you brag about trying to hack someone's account. They just don't.

This has nothing to do with people breaking your lockers, people acting like 1950s housewives and it is not about you trying to "ruin your smile." There are more productive ways at confronting an issue versus trying to do something that can be easily traced back to your computer...and if caught...would make it appear to others that you were no different than the person bothering you. Plus...hacking can get you in a lot of trouble if caught.

And no, I'm not going to smite you.
