In what fashion do you generally take your medication?

Entire daily dose of prescribed anti-androgen, estrogen, and progesterone all at once, every day.

The reason I'm asking this is because I've been having bad results with progesterone, and I think it may have something do with the way I'm taking it.
Thank you.

Hmm. I know this forum isn't super busy, but 1 vote after a day?
I'm guessing a lot of people just don't take micronized progesterones.

Yeah sorry Beep. I'd love to give you advice or anything, but all I'd be able to tell you is what I would find on Google.

I hope you get some actual answers at some point. :)

I haven't had anything bad from micronized... Couldn't tell if it's any better/worse than normal stuff though.

The poll choices are a bit (maybe too?) specific.
Some folks don't take any anti-androgens.
Some folks take medroxyprogesterone acetate.

Actually it's okay. I'm going to stop taking it anyways since progesterone seems to be either decreasing my estrogen levels, or is being converted straight to testosterone in my system or something.
I've tried taking it in the morning with my other medication, before bed, separate from my other medication, and I keep getting the same effect. Masculinity.

Something strange I noticed is that these are pretty much the exact same side effects I got from taking dutasteride(Avodart), and what do micronized progesterones(Prometrium) and dutasterides have in common? They apparently both inhibit DHT production, so I'm guessing that they both inhibit something else related to my problem.
In case anyone is wondering, I haven't had sex reassignment surgery. Maybe after I do have my testicles removed, I will actually benefit from taking micronized progesterones.

My gratitude to all of you on this forum for being so helpful and informative.

UPDATE:
Wow, look what I found: http://www.gires.org.uk/assets/Medpro-Assets/Progesterone.pdf
Why couldn't I have read this months ago? It pretty much explains how progesterones do NOT affect breast size during development.
It also goes on to mention, and I quote:
QuoteProgesterone reduces the effectiveness of estrogen as it:
a) increases the breakdown of estrogen in the liver;
b) reduces the number of estrogen receptors in the breasts (estrogen must bind to receptors in order to work. Even if there are good estrogen levels in the bloodstream, if there are no receptors, it cannot work);
c) is converted into testosterone which inhibits the actions of estrogen.

All the pieces seem to be falling into place now, don't they?
F***ing progesterone. Why in the hell would endocrinologists prescribe this crap without researching it?

My other is "Divide daily dose of prescribed anti-androgen and estrogen throughout the day, DHT inhibitor once in the morning."

I'm surprised to find most of the tgirls that I talk to aren't taking a DHT inhibitor instead of Progesterone.  In fact, only one girl I know is, and she's my mentor who told me what I needed to take!:)

  I take the progesterone in 14 day cycles, the prescribed minimum is 10 days out of 28 if you are going to take it.  Estrodiol once daily on a 28 day calendar, Spiro, once a day; down from twice a day for all as prescribed by my doctor.  All in the morning so I can get to sleep at night without getting up to pee every 2-3 hours.  I start my next P cycle tomorrow.  I guess it is that time of the month again!  I do get a wee more aggressive toward the end of the P cycle, I love it!

I did take it at some point however overall I had some problems with it.

specifically while it made my boobs slightly bigger and countered some unplesant side effects of estrogen it caused other health complaints most minor.
Increased libido
spots
A funny body odur
Dry Eyes

The one that worried me was gum disease. my gums started bleeding and receeding no matter how much and how carefully I brushed.

I don't want to disagree with your experiences, they are yours after all, but I. Have read that progesterone increases cell sensitivity to estrogen.

Most of the world uses cyproterone acetate as an antiandrogen and it is also a progesterone. What might be happening in your body is the conversion of the prometrium to aldosterone, this hormone can be converted to testosterone, estrone, and estriol. While testosterone is bad estrone can be a resevoir used to create 17b estradiol. Perhapse you are taking too much of it. Maybe you only need it every other day or a few weeks a month. I can understand you frustration, only because I have the opposite problem. I am suffering from estrogen dominance, insomnia, irritability, no breast growth, screwed up blood clotting, anxiety, depression. Many Dr's fail to recognize the hormones we are taking need to be in balance. This means taking both at the right dosages. If you want to see how badly the doctors actually do at HRT go to a website called hystersisters.com and read the horror stories of women with hysterectomies try and get back to the balance they once had naturally. We have never experienced proper hormone balance and so it is difficult to know when we haven't got it and what needs to be adjusted in order to get it.
