Upcoming Spirit Day 2011-Morgan Speaks- Spirit Day 2011 will happen Thursday October 20.

It was conceived last year by teen Brittany McMillan as a response to the young people who had taken their own lives. 

On Spirit Day which will happen every October 20, individuals, schools, organizations, corporations, media professionals and celebrities wear and encourage others to wear purple, which in the BTLG community rainbow flag symbolizes spirit.

It is also organized as a way for people to show their support for TBLG youth and to speak out against bullying.  All you have to do you be down with Spirit Day is simply wear purple on October 20 as we all continue to work to create a world in which LGBT teens are celebrated and accepted for who they are.
