I am currently about 6 weeks post-op and started developing pain around the right side of my pelvic bone a week or two ago. The pain had been there when I first woke up after surgery but had mostly faded. Dr. Bowers attributed it to possibly being trapped nerve endings however I'm now having te same pain only intensely multiplied on the left side if the pubic bone to the point that I can't even turn in bed or straighten out with out sharp stabs of pain that are excruciating. Has anyone felt anything like this??  Please help if you can!!

Yep honey, have had it and it can get really BAD.

Had it that bad when also the right side of my pubic mount was swollen like a chicken egg. A haematoma that will disipate with time, I was told and it has gone down a lot since.

The pain seems related to where our gonades (testes) where 'connected' - yes, right up there and some nervendings are at times complaining badly.

Thake a strong pain killer (prescription drug) and lay flat and stay there, let the pain subside and then take it VERY easy with standing AND sitting for the day. For the time being my pain in the mons pubis is gone - but there are plenty of nerves in other areas that cause short shooting pains at times to make me wince - but those are usually very short lasted.

So, if you ask me - and as I was told, it is quite normal and part of the healing process.

dilating with big dilator? pulling muscles that reach up each side of groin.  I had them for first few months but not much now.
is your temp and heart rate Ok or any chance you might have an infection?  I had awful thrush infects and juts had a thick dark infecyion that doctor said was uring infection but urine was clear so perhaps I had a general vagina infcet.

if its really bad a trip to a clinic would be good.

The CAT scan at the hospital has not shown anything that worrisome. I won't know for sure until Monday though.

Michelle.

Thats good news.

The ultimate are you trans quiz would include one question.

After reading about the procedure itself, seeing the photos, reading of all the possible complications and the life long post op care: Do you still desire SRS?

Yep.

it came and went, around the area of what would be the mons pubis but it's gone now.  I had some kind of phantom pain in my left labia majora area about 2 months post op, but that went away as well.  Maybe something to do with things settling in? hell if I know! lol

actually of course we have to remember that the surgeon uses those big retractor things to get their hands inside so of course things will be stretched about quite a lot.

I had colovag op in which surgeon gets into lower belly, cuts off a piece of colon but has to leave it connected to its veins so has to cut a hole in lower abdomen muscles to push the colon down behind the pubic bone and pull it into place up th ehole he sliced in me to make the vagina hole.
so I'm glad I was asleep.
