SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – A school in West Jordan is getting heat from parents about a Halloween event. Parents say a letter sent home to them had what some say is a questionable remark about what costumes their kids can wear. One parent says it's discriminatory.

Halloween is a time to play dress-up, but one parent is worried about the message Copper Canyon Elementary was trying to get across when they sent this letter home with her kids. "Which to me is really silly," said Jennifer Wilson.

It reads students may not take real or plastic weapons to school, but it also says this, "Remember that cross-dressing is against Jordan School District Policy."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
