^^Did you just start HRT!? I am 24 now and just started a few months ago and I am already seeing my hips opening up a little bit, I hope that continues on from here and they become more open.

I've been on hormones for 18 months and have only noticed a slight increase in hips (maybe 1 inch). My butt on the other hand...popped out of nowhere! Like WHOA!

Hip development from HRT depends on a few factors, age, genetics, and body shape. Some people try'n and say that after puberty ends (around age 24-25 for males) that bone structure completely fuses together thus no growth bone wise after this point - not true. I've seen alot of hip growth after starting HRT and i'm 25!  :o

But was that actually your hip BONES changing shape? Or just the muscle/fat around your hips?

I'm skinny as a rail and had like no muscle/fat there even before HRT. I'm on a low cal diet so i know it's not fat.

It's all in the hips baby!  :icon_joy:

How long have you been on Hormones btw?! I turned 24 in April and started HRT this past September, so it hasn't been long at all.

I've been on hormones for about 9 ½ months now. Yeah just give it time, if you don't see any hip growth after 1-3 years of HRT then there's a good chance you won't at all.

It all depends on the individual.  :P

^^Awesome, thanks for the info. I hope to see more growth as my HRT journey continues, like I said, I have only been on hormones for about 2 1/2 months now. ;)

I should probably add that i'm also on progesterone which may or may not be helping stimulate hip growth.

Thanks for all of the replies you guys! I started HRT in high school and saw virtually zero breast/hip growth, but once I got to college I gained a bit of weight, and now my hips are a little bigger. However, my mom even has small hips and ass so I don't think I have much to look forward to in that department. :/

I will start doing lower body exercises to see if that helps!

I would have to agree that there is a possibility that hip bones might grow after the age of 25. I can attest to that.

Even though I can't say my pelvis has grown in size, my femur that connects to my hip joint has changed in shape and has grown out to the side slightly. This would explain why I can put my feet together and my knees would be touching now when before HRT I wasn't able to do so. My hips also ache time to time when I wake up in the morning. Perhaps they're still growing. :)

^^I have also noticed recently, my side around my hip area is sore some days, especially when I first get up in the morning. I wonder if that has anything to do with HRT and my hips. I am 24 and only been on HRT for about 2 1/2 months.

I started hormones at 26 and am now 28, but I seem to be having some hip growth too.  Granted mine were already wide, but I've been feeling pain that feels like it's in the bone over the past several months.  It lasts for up to an hour or two at a time, but then goes away for at least a few days so I know it's not caused by a health problem.  I dunno what to do if they get much bigger - it's already hard to put on pants sometimes.

^That is exactly what is happening with me. I feel pain in the hip area for a few hours at a time and then it goes away for a few days.
