greetings!
I live in Michigan and would like to change gender but also want to stay married.
------------
CONSTITUTION OF MICHIGAN OF 1963
§ 25 Marriage.
Sec. 25.
To secure and preserve the benefits of marriage for our society and for future generations of children, the union of one man and one woman in marriage shall be the only agreement recognized as a marriage or similar union for any purpose.
------------
Does anyone know what MI uses to legally determine gender? Or the likely hood that the state would do something after changing gender?
How about all the rights and privileges attached to 'marriage'.
Healthcare benefits,
Social Security benefits,
retirement accounts,
beneficiary status
transfer of the estate if one dies,
power of attorney if one of us becomes incapable
ownership of property
parental rights for the kids
joint federal/state income tax
Can I change my birth certificate name and gender in the state of Washington without affecting MI gender?
sorry for all the questions...
