Tomboy Transgirl

Hello everyone,
I'm a 36-year-old pre-everything transwoman in Columbus, Ohio. I've been here at Susan's before, but I thought I'd start anew under a fresh screen name. I'm a college professor (teaching only part-time right now, unfortunately), and I have two wonderful, beautiful children. I'm going through the early stages of a divorce and my spouse is not supportive of me starting my transition. I feel stuck due to underemployment (which begets lack of money and lack of job security), lack of health insurance, and lack of a support network. I'm back here looking for support, advice, and friendship. I hope to be very active here once again- I'm particularly interested in talking to people in or near Central Ohio.

Thanks!

Welcome Back :) I'm really sorry to hear about your situation, though I can't say that I'm far off in some aspects. My coming out too cost me a marriage. Crazy as it may sound, in retrospect it was for the best. I'm around a different group of friends now that are wonderfully supportive (they admit it's a little weird for them, but they all say they'll get used to it) and I'm seeing someone now that is completely supportive of me. Not bragging, but the point being is that it will get better for you. You just have to stay positive and believe that it will. I know I didn't see how it ever would, but it did. Not to say my life is a walk in the park by any means, but with a good base support system it makes everything that much easier. Best of luck to you sweetheart :)
