Has  anyone used this yet and if so is it a good alternative to LHR? Thanks in advanced for any info.

It isn't worth it. I had no real loss and found it to be MORE painful than real LHR.

Same goes for the silken.

I'm pretty sure there is no actually effective do-it-yourself laser hair removal. Sorry.

I tried the Tria.  According to the literature, I have the ideal hair/skin pigmentation. After six months, there was no noticeable reduction in hair at all.  Plus, it hurt hella bad in some spots even on the lowest setting. "Like a rubber band snapping on your skin," my Aunt Fanny!

Also be advised that you are warned by Tria not to use it on your face.  The reason is that the beam diffuses through the skin for a short distance.  If you get too close to the eyes or accidentally get a bad angle from elsewhere on the face, you can damage or destroy your eyesight.

In my opinion, it's just a waste of money.
