I've decided I really need to meet some people who are thinking similar things to myself so I'm going to a group tonight (I'm in the UK so it's afternoon here) for anyone who is assigned female at birth and questioning their gender identity.

I'm really nervous and it's only just occurred to me that I'll need to think of a name to be known by there. I have so many names i like and I honestly can't choose one (or two if I go first and middle)

Arghh

Can you guys help at all? I feel silly worrying about it all  :embarrassed:

It's a group for 'female-born' and questioning, if you don't have a name ready, then you don't have a new name ready yet. You can pick the first that comes to mind when you're there and tell them it might change soon though 'cause you haven't really decided on it yet. But you'll let them know when you do.

That's fine, all of them will go through the process of deciding on their name, there's the chance some of 'm there might still go by their female names (or maybe unisex names they want go by during transition).

Ah, and don't sweat it alright. ;) You'll be fine.

Though looking at the time now, I might be a little late, I'm not sure what time your group-thing is. Enjoy anyway! ;)

ps. I meant to say 'assigned female at birth'  :embarrassed: Normally I'm really careful about wording these things  :embarrassed:

What are some of the names you use and are you ever referred to by any of these names?
If you are, I would just pick the one that you go by the most; if not, pick the one you think you would feel most comfortable with at the moment.
I've never been to one of these groups, but I'm sure there is no reason to be nervous.
These people are also dealing with their own gender issues and therefore should be in no place to judge or criticize you.
It's natural to be unsure of yourself especially when you are in the early processes of transitioning.
I hope you have good time. :]

if you have a nick name you can go by that one, no one will get angy if you dont say what you consider your "real name" or if your not ready for one yet.
