I'm listening to "The Mule" by Deep Purple, on the Made in Japan album. It's got a six minute plus drum solo by Ian Paice. Who do you like on the drums?

The roadie/drum tech when he's taking them down.  You know what you call someone who hangs out with musicians?  A drummer.  But with a gun up to my head - and aside from Gene Kruppa, who is so far and away the world's best drummer ever that there isn't even a second, third or fourth place, I mean the drum solo was invented for Gene (and I've never had a drummer disagree with that statement) - I'd go with Leonard Haze of Y&T, Lenny White of Return to Forever, Keith Moon and Charlie Watts.  Honorable mention to Ringo and John Bonham.
