and I told him that no one cared what he thought because he's gonna die in a few years anyway.
Even in death, may I be triumphant.

While I understand your frustration, your response to him seems a bit uncalled for and if he's on the verge of death, you may want to make amends.  That, of course, is merely a suggestion.  That's not the topic though, so on to the topic.  I'm sorry to hear this  :(  If I can suggest anything, keep in contact with your dad and be respectful; you don't want to make matters worse.  Perhaps in time, he'll grow on the idea.  Nonetheless, keep moving onward and again, I'm sorry to hear.

oh wow... how do you feel about that?

This kind of parent situation always had me wondering - is it better to have dead parents who never knew you transitioned or have alive parents who know but reject/denounce/shun you?  :-\

Sounds similar to what I would've said in your situation.  I won't pretend to know anything about the details of your particular dilemma, though, so it's hard to say whether you should feel bad or not.  I'll stick to suggesting nothing for the moment.

You stay his child ! and if you dint care you would not vent it here ,or your sorry and try to find somebody who agree ?
Family stay a problem ,but thats we are grown up with stereotypes ,even schools say your son or daughter never your child!
And never forget one day will be your last to :) till that day try to enjoy life.
