Someone wrote in about the pastor who said he could guarantee that Jesus would want Stanton firedI can find nowhere in the New Testament where a clinically necessary procedure should be grounds for losing your job. I can find no examples in Scripture where Jesus ever advocated punitive dismissal of anyone for any reason. The only harsh words I can find from Jesus lips were reserved for the pious, self-righteous, self-appointed law-givers who had little, if any, compassion for fellow sinners.
Our country doesn't need a Christian taliban to speak to our civil authorities about what Jesus would do.
