Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here. :) So things have been going relatively well, it's been 6+ months since I've had to worry about passing, testosterone's been treating me well, definitely feeling better than I did a year ago. But I'm having a bit of an issue with injections... likely I'll ultimately have to check with a doctor, but I was wondering if any of you had thoughts. Because at the moment I'm in between doctors. Basically, I've been doing the injection on my thigh with a 1 inch needle - shorter than was recommended but I was told at my weight, at the time, anything longer might go too deep. Well, when I started T I was between 115-120 lbs, then started fluctuating between 120-125 after a couple months on it. Now I'm 102-105 lbs. So obviously there's been a lot of fat loss on my thighs, and I'm first of all having a pretty hard time pinching enough skin for the injection, and second of all, it's been increasingly uncomfortable to push the needle all the way in - the last two times it sort of felt like I was hitting a new, denser layer of muscle, and got really painful at that depth. Maybe I'm imagining things because I've gotten nervous with the injections lately, but it's sort of concerning... and the last time, which was tonight, it was too painful (and worrying) to push the needle in fully, so there was maybe 1/2-1 cm of needle left outside and I ended up with a LOT of T flowing back out.

Has anyone here dealt with something like that? Lost a lot of weight and had to adjust their injection? I was wondering about location - I've been doing the injections more towards the inside of my thighs, because if I did them directly on top I really do think I'd hit bone, and extending my leg a little so I can actually pinch enough to inject into. Would another location give me more space for the injection?

Again, I know this is the sort of thing I should be asking a doctor about, but I am sort of without one at the moment, and I get the feeling I'd just be told I need to gain weight... which is probably true, but not exactly helpful.

Some guys inject into their butt when the leg/thigh gets worn out/thin. If you have enough back there, it may be an option. Other than that, I have no clue what to tell you :(

I'm going to suggest the butt as well.  It's a bit more difficult to reach if you aren't flexible but there is usually plenty of flesh back there.

The butt is a much better option regardless of the situation

I use very small needles and numb it up with ice first. I usually do it toward the outside of my thighs, mostly because that's what it said on the diagram the doctor gave me.

I've never injected in my thigh, but I can say that I like injecting in my butt. You might try it--but do some research first, get the right spot, and inject in front of a mirror.

Thanks, everyone. I'll look into that, I didn't realise self-injections were possible for the butt.

I inject once a week, so I like to alternate sides. I'm an expert at injecting on the right side, but I have to work harder on the left side because it's an odd angle. I didn't start injecting on the left till I was very proficient on the right. Right side is a piece of cake now, but I like to inject in front of the bathroom mirror.
