Period issues.

My FTM fiance has been on testosterone therapy for two years. He was on Androgel for the first year and a few months of our relationship. He switched to injections in July and has had much better results - more facial hair growth, more stable moods, less worry about getting Androgel on me. Oddly, exactly when he started injections, my periods became extremely irregular - from an average 35-day cycle to, well...I had a 101 day cycle, and now I'm on day 60-something, no period in sight. A friend said that she heard from her FTM ex that one of his girlfriends stopped having periods for a time corresponding with his testosterone therapy, but it seems to me that if that were possible, no one dating a bio man would ever have periods. Has anyone had any experience with this kind of issue?

To respond as an FTM who is not yet on hormones, I might be able to answer. Women (and I am only talking biologically) tend to adjust cycles to correspond to the hormone levels around them. As much as I hate to use my own experiences with the scarlet raids, I was the one who forced other people to adjust. When I worked in a pharmacy (then in girl mode), it was one guy and six five girls and me . Within two months, everyone was on my schedule. This is not related any way to dating a transguy. It has everything to do with being in possession of a uterus and ovaries.

His level of hormone changes because of the injections over topical application could be affecting your body as it changes his levels of estrogen. I am happy to hear that the injections are working better for him, and hopefully your periods don't stay funny for too long. You could always try b/c if they stay off kilter, but it should go away with time.

If your cycles do not normalize with in anouther few months then get into a doctor.
