Kia Ora,

We always celebrate Christmas just the four of us and we have traditions, phrases and such which are set in stone. It's a ritual for most of it, but it's ritual steeped in love and it's become the thing I most look forward to about it. As a present pile, I'm hoping for a haul of hard-to-find books and silly cds, maybe a nose hair trimmer there too.

I'll be getting my Christmas gift about 1 week late but it'll be so worth the wait.

I'll wave to Santa as he trots by - growing up Jewish makes the whole xmas thing seem a bit nebulous to me. I'm actually going to have my first ever family xmas this year, as I'll be with my girlfriend and her wee boy, who is going to go completely insane that day with prezzie-thrill :). So this will be my first experience of stuff-under-the-tree family vibe. My wish is that it goes well - wee boy's dad and partner's mum are unpredictable mood bombs.

What I wish for myself is equanimity. I'm me, they're them, that's fine :).

All I want is the white iPod touch under my Christmas tree that I've already snuck around and opened and the clothes my mom got me. I would like to have had my ex girl friend wearing a thong wrapped up under my Christmas tree but she lives 4 hours away so that's the only thing I don't get.
Push it baby, push it baby, out of control, I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow. ;)

I would like to feel as happy with myself as possible.

For me it would be the Cath Kidston handbag I asked for on my wish list and an epilator (very much needed!!)

On a bigger scale I hope for happiness and better 2012 than the year I have just had.

Failing that, acceptance from my mum.

Failing that, a microKORG synth to make sad bedroom-core ambient drone folk.

Well, I'd like to wake up and have a boy's body, but since there's no way in heck that'll happen....

I think the best thing I could get is a giftcard to some clothing store and my parents letting me choose clothes from the boy section. I'm pretty sure it'll happen too, and if it does....man, it's gonna be great. :) That is the one thing I really want this year.

I want an entire day off, without absolutely nothing that needs to get done.

I also want a double mastectomy from a non-quack surgeon, and some way to be sure that I can afford my T in both the near and distant future, and a pair of really good shoes with the prescription orthotic that my medicaid considers frivolous.

I want some good lube (that stuff's expensive), and a prosthetic erect cock that isn't tiny and doesn't smell funny. I want an electric razor, and some 10/15/20 lb free weights.

I want a phone plan paid for by someone who doesn't think I'm scum (my dad pays for mine, in exchange for my leaving him alone), and I want a phone that isn't glitchy. Or my god, a job that I could do while also raising my daughter. Failing so hard at life is not normally how I roll.

Santa should bring electricity. PGE gives me a good plan (figuring in old debt), but 100 a month still hurts. Santa should smash Comcast to little pieces so a smaller cable company can take its place. I have no television, and my internet speed is molasses, but they still charge 50 a month. That's not fair. In Alabama I got high speed for 40.

I want the Marketplace books, which don't show up in used bookstores. I want 69 Love Songs, which I've forever been meaning to get around to getting. I want a record player and a cd player, as both of mine died recently.

I'm materialistic and shallow. I could post further with more things I want. To counterbalance my selfishness: I want braces for my daughter, and a nintendo DS lite like her friends have, and knitting lessons for her. And admission to the art museum.

I need more magical things, though. I need to know more than I know, and I need to be stronger.

Wishing is delightful, but to address this -

The most important gifts Santa can give a gender dysphoric person are the things or processes that allow that person to feel more normal.

Secular and sensual acquisition is good stuff to daydream about. I expect I'll post here again with more personal greed. It's pleasant.

Zenda,

Kia Ora all,

::) Well I hope all your dreams come true ! Happiness is 'subjective' so in a sense it's on tap 24/7 if you 'think' about it...

@ Jen61"I thought you were a Buddhist, are you converting to Christianity ?"

::) As a practitioner of the Dharma, no I don't celebrate Xmas, it's just another day-I'll go to the beach and read a book...However for those who feel it's something special I wish them all the best...

::) BTW To answer my own question...I think what many pre-transitioners 'need' from Santa is the gift of 'SELF CONFIDENCE',  the ability to do the things they need to do in order to find true contentment...To be without  self confidence is like having a row boat without the oars...

::) So my gift to you all is this..."Change the way you look at things[if you dig deep enough you will find something positive in any situation] and the things you look at change !"

::) Merry Xmas and Happy 'Mindfulness' !
