Whenever I drone out to the news I suddenly become aware through my vegetable mind that I'm getting depressed and bored. It's enough to snap me into coherence and I notice the sport has started.

They always have the same droney sounding voices with a "minor" note to it. It's always about the most pointless crap. Like trying to get a ball to one end of a field when if they arrived before the game started then they could have taken it there with zero trouble.

I only like the iron man surf comps because I can see all the guys and girls in sporty togs.

I find that sport is just a brand of pointlessness I don't understand, unlike those ones I do.

Watching sports seems like a complicated form of torture to me. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Oh, wait... I watch figure skating during the Winter Olympics. Does that count?

No because that's nice and light and airy so you are supposed to like it ;)

I never watch sport, it is so boring. How can anyone watch golf?

Fionabell you should try a poll on what is the most boring or ridiculous to watch

Depressive? No, But I usually turn on the TV for back ground noise while I do other things and mostly to drown out my loud, obnoxious neighbor

If I actually sit down to watch a program, best chances I'll fall asleep

we have had the Ironman (no Iron woman in title!) on telly last few weeks and its good viewing to see how the guys swims/ride/run faster and better than the women and its all done round regular towns so I try to watch it most Sunday mornings.
other sport on a field or track just seems senseless monotony.
lots of other people around must feel same because a few weeks ago the towns soccer team had a biggish match but telly showed very few spectators and barely 20 years ago the place would be full.

It is.  Seeing the some of the base antics of professional and some college athletes and recently, coaches, on and off of the field.  I gotten sick of them long ago.  Even some of the sports writers and commentators with their comments seem to encourage these behaviors.  The Olympics used to be fun to watch because they were real amateurs really trying to make a real name for themselves.   The U.S. basketball team used to consist of mainly NCAA types that played their hearts out.  Now they are pro players who act like it's just another road game.
I used to give to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in a check off in my state's income tax return, but now that goes directly to Special Olympics.

I have a few I like.  Baseball, football and World Cup skiing.  I hardly ever turn up the sound, if you know what's going on you don't need it.  The Giants were kind of depressing this past year.  I'll give you that.

I cannot stand watching most sports.  Unfortunately at any family gatherings, it can almost be a guarantee to either see football or golf on the TV.

The only sport I care to watch is surfing also.

I checked yes.  Sometimes it does.

It's pretty much limited to combative sports like wrestling, boxing, and MMA especially UFC.

When I watch UFC sometimes it depresses me because I see these very dominate males with very sculpted bodies and nice buldges in their pants that I want.  Friday I saw a fighter my age who is 20 and he's already competing in the UFC.  It makes me wonder what the heck have I been doing in my life.  It also kind of gets to me that most of the fighters seem like the alpha male with their combative abilities, money, wives, and children.

I like basketball and hockey, but I only casually track the local teams. Soccer or baseball are cool in person but not on television. I like to play just about any sport, but most of them are pretty dull to watch.

It will do in 50-odd days time, when there's a huge influx of it with the Olympics.

Not if I am watching what I like.  MotoGP, especially with the new super slow motion cameras, Rugby League, Figure Skating and Ice Hockey are favourites, anything to do with skating really. :)
