1) How many of you have a FB profile as a female with real pics of yourself either en femme or not, not avatars or random pics?
2) How many of you are out and open about being trans on your FB?
3) How many of you are friends with each other on FB?
My only profile on Facebook is as me. I never felt comfortable making one until I could mark it appropriately. It was actually really restricted for a long time, but once I came out we loosened it (searchable now and most posts are friends of friends). Even before my legal name change I was Jeneva on Facebook and it is marked female. My current main profile pic is the same as my avatar here, but I have used pictures of me as my profile before I started work on this sleeve and there are many in my albums. I don't dress drag/drab. I dress as me always. I will point out that I'm not ultra fem though. Since I work at home and don't run around town most days, jeans and a tee is a normal outfit.
This current avatar I use isn't an attempt to hide, but rather a conceptual representation and my (cis) wife uses the other Fae on my sleeve as hers.
I had to be out and open since pretty much all of my friends are ones I met through my wife or old college/work friends. She also has some older photos of me on her profile (wedding pictures for example). It is funny, while I've never been one to have dozens of friends at any particular place, pretty much every single one of the people I have put into my close circle of friends at some point in my past has had no problem accepting me.
As I have not yet had all the surgeries I desire I do ID as transsexual on my profile. We're also still struggling with acceptance vs tolerance from some of my wife's family so we post a lot of LGBT stuff (and probably will from now on since if they accept me as T then they have to accept us both as L or B. We also post a lot of just day to day stuff so it isn't just pure LGBT posts.
I have one other transwoman on my friend list that I have met in person a few times. She works at the salon where I was having my extensions put in before I decided to go down the FFS route instead.
I generally only send friend requests to people I actually know, but I usually accept any friend requests I get. I have several friends on my list just from people that we met at any of the local festivals we do (my wife makes candles/soap that we use as a fundraiser for our JDRF walk). As long as a person is not offensive or hostile I generally keep them on the list.
