Another consideration to take in is that stastically speaking, men prefer long hair on women, so, if you are a hetero woman, that is something to think about.

For you who are lesbians anyway, get the "power"/"butch" cut together.  :D

What about bisexual/borderline gay men?

I love short asymmetrical cuts. I have one, as can be seen in my avatar. I get gendered correctly occasionally, but it's still fairly hit and miss. I'm also still having electrolysis done. I'd say go for it.

I see you in your avatar and I can see how you would. I assumed you just had an updo. Do you wear makeup?

My stylist is in the Castro though and he is perfect.

I wear makeup sometimes. But I have electrolysis 2-3 times a week and I'm not supposed to really wear any the day before, day of, and day after. I also tend to get really bad breakouts from the electrolysis and makeup tends to just make it worse. I'm still trying to figure out eyeliner and eye shadow. I tried some eyeliner tonight and it just made me look goth. lol. When I do wear eye makeup it's usually just mascara and just a little bit of eye shadow that is slightly lighter than my natural skin tone. It tends to brighten my eyes a little bit. I live in Eugene, OR. My salon is LGBT friendly: http://hairvirtuososalon.com/ Are they emo? lol. My stylist mentioned that she dated someone who's trans. She didn't say whether or not this person was a transwoman or a transman.

Yeah..eyeshadow + eyeliner in various combinations won't result in goth. I have a nude eye on in my photo and thats a fairly modern celebrity look.

Ain't that the truth.

I think it was just the type of eyeliner and the fact that I applied it too thick, despite my attempts to avoid doing so, that made it look goth. Although, a girl I work with, who has shorter hair than me, always has super thick, dark eyeliner and it doesn't look goth. *shrug*

I can't believe people are using the term "goth". I got over that in 2000 when I became a raver.

It seems so dated by todays standards and emo...eek. Getting a gay man to cut my hair so I don't look EMO.

lol !!! I used to be a raver too -

wow, how many other things in common do we have now so far, Masha?

Lol. I didn't know the term was dated. Did emo just become the new goth? Am I just getting old?

Funny, i have the 2nd to last one on my desktop for reference, im thinking about it for myself but im going to get extensions for a few months first before i cut it but i'm definitely drawn to shorter hair on me.
Mahsa: You have really nice hair! i'm totally envious of its straightness.

also: as someone intune with the goth sub culture, emo =/= goth. I don't even know what you were conversing about but that burned my eyes.

How do you get it so straight? I try ironing mine, and it stays nice for maybe half a day. Then the tips start to curl up again... and if it gets at all wet, all my worqk goes for nothing.

In the summer I had to rub antiperspirant on my forehead so my hair wouldn't curl if I sweated.

I think you could easily do short hair i mean your face is only gentle featured :) unlike me with broad broad brow bone and huge manly nose i barely look feminine in appearance with long hair :) haha but i say do it but don't go and waste 3 years of growth donate it for those who could never get your locks :)
Awww no my little kitten gif site is gone :( sad.
