Kia Ora,

::) This is a slightly different take on the "have you ever been clock"...

::) The counsellor I saw before my genital surgery[I was being assessed for suitability for surgery] she when commenting on my appearance, said "I hope you don't mind me asking you this, but have you had facial surgery ?" Then she went on to ask whether I had a boob job and said that many transsexual people[females] do have these procedures done...Of which my reply was no to both...

::) This has happen a few times when I been open about my past to the unsuspecting cis & trans person....

::) It would seem for some cis-people if they come across a natural 'blender'[HRT only] they immediately presume we MUST have had some kind of surgery...Perhaps this is because of the media showing the different types of surgery available for trans-people and the results of some of these surgeries...

::) However I don't take offence when being asked this, I see it as a compliment or if you like a confidence  booster...* Not that I need my confidence boosted*

::) Just out of interest, has this ever happened to you ? [When you're*With the help of HRT* 'au naturel' san FFS & BA ]....

::) Remember I'm not talking about attractiveness here,[being naturally attractive does not always equate to ones ability to blend-in appearance-wise ]...

::) This is just a 'have you ever been ask ?" thread......

People assume I've had facial surgery... Namely transpeople I've confronted in public.

But yeah... Unless I bring it up, no one asks me questions. I can't believe men actually believe I have a vjj.

My lawyer asked me if I have had FFS done when I spoke with him about my name change, the first time. Personally, I think he was just trying to be nice.

The nurse at my doctor's office thought I'd been on T for awhile, and she asked if I'd had top surgery.

I also got asked by a sex partner recently if my leg hair was real. I'm not sure exactly how he thought I could be faking something like that, but whatever. :D

I get the FFS and the BA question often when I am with other transgender people. I do feel good about the FFS question but I feel awkward about the boob one.

However, I have been less and less involved in trans issue in real life so the question isn't asked of me anymore.

And that's good to me because I just wanna be seen as some average girl rather than a trans who "transitioned well."

That is truly bizarre! ???  I have heard of 'merkins' but leg hair is just too mind boggling to imagine! ::)

Thanks to the softening effects of HRT, I have had people disbelieve my age, so I have given up and just say I am 45 now. :)

With the exception of people on this board. I know very few transgirls IRL...My drag queen friends(although no where near trans) know not to ask questions like that.

Kia Ora Annah, [And Season's greetings to you]

::) Unless one decide to go 'deep stealth', at some time or other one will no doubt still be asked this kind of question again...It's called 'curiosity'...Or 'fascination'...

::) I'm comfortable with my 'past life' I don't have to re-live it, or live in fear of others finding out...However, at times people might 'need' to know and this is when these type of 'questions' normally arise as an 'afterthought'...The last time this happened was in 2008 at the one and only national trans-conference I attended...

::) Both you and Elle are still quite fresh into your transitions...Give it time, it will happen [so long as you don't go deep stealth-that is]

I deal with this a ton (though for different reasons), and I'd probably lie except that the math wouldn't check out in relation to my daughter. It's unnerving how close we look to one another in age. She's almost 12 and I'm 30, but I look 18 if I'm lucky, and I'm not tall and she's not small. More than once I've had a person interpret the situation as I'm not her biodad but I tell her I am to make her feel better. Lol.

Kia Ora Felix,

::) The Peter Pan syndrome  ;) ;D

::) When I attended the trans-conference [in 2008] A trans-guy sat at my table, anyway we got talking and in my mind I saw him as late 30s early 40s at the most, and as the conversation progressed, the topic of age came up, and I was blown away when he said he had just turned '60'...

I can't recall being asked about BA & FFS, however I am often guessed to be five years below my actual age.
Another thing is I have more than once been asked whether I am a foreigner. Apparently my voice is interpreted as having an accent rather than being transgender.

Are you a top or bottom?

I love that question.

I didn't haven't that however I've had similar unusual encounters with Doctors and nurses.

One encounter with an ->-bleeped-<- endocrinologist.
"I wanna see down your throat"
huh?
"your voice hasn't deepened I think you might have an intersex disorder."
I don't I just trained it.
"are you sure?"
yes.

Or getting a health checkup prior to begin registered at my local health clinic.
"When was the date of your last period?"
Dose it not say about this in the notes they transfered over?
"No"
Umm I don't get periods.
"Are you pregnant?"
I'm a transsexual.
