I'm almost a month post op from my November 28th surgery with Dr Chettawut, and I have had 2 issues since I got back from Thailand. First is that my pee has been a terrible mess ever since the surgery, and in last 3 days has actually got more wild. The other issue is with Pain......which is very weird to me. Since the surgery I have had only minor pain with the SRS, and the only pain I got after I returned home was with driving or sitting on harder chairs, but 3 days ago I started to have pain, and the pain grew and grew....it was not with dilating, it was with the upper part of the vagina towards the clitoris area. When I had a check up on the 20th the dr seemed to think it was healing fine. But a few days after the check up I have had worse pain down there then at any other point post op. Everything seems to look normal to me there. So just wondering on those 2 things. How long it took to have a normal pee stream, and if having new pain over 3 weeks after surgery is just a sign of feeling coming back or just a normal flare up you get, or a sign of something more.

I didn't have my surgery in Thailand but I had a similar pain in the upper vaginal/clitoral area, and sometimes a feeling of pressure or something there, although it eventually subsided. If it's like a stabbing pain it's most likely the nerves re-arranging themselves so that your body will gain sensation - if it's the clitoris, it's good news as it means it's regaining sensation. I had (and sometimes still have) both occasional stabbing pains in that area, and occasionally had a longer lasting dull pain for a while in the upper vaginal area, almost where the penis used to be.

It's also possible you have a UTI which is common after surgery - I thought I had one, but it actually subsided after drinking plenty of cranberry juice.

Urinating for me was not a problem after surgery, but I have heard of others who had spray for the first 2-4 weeks with it eventually subsiding. However, it may pay to visit charing cross(if possible) to have silver nitrate treatment if you can - sometimes granulation can occur around the urethra, affecting urination, and this can be treated with silver nitrate.
It takes balls to go through SRS!

Hi ya,

i dont wish to sound alarmist but i didnt have any pain.

Urinating is certainly messier now as it seems to run off my labia at times rather than going straght to the pan so i try to find a way for a perfect result everytime but to be honest, i doubt there is going to be one.

Is it definately pain that you are feeling or perhaps over sensitivty around the clitoris?  That area can be a bit sore early on as it has a lot of nerves in it (which is why its used for the clit).  I can still feel heightened sensitivity there at times, i imagine it like an eyelash in the eye, ie, a bit of 'something' has worked its way across my clit and i wished i could wipe it away but its likely just nerves testing themselves or something as its very brief.  I am 11 months post now.

If you really do experience it as pain i would play safe and report it unless you get a number of responses later saying otherwise.

What would be a 'perfect' pee --- having a vulva?!?

It (urine) some times can creep up, as it seems, against gravity, also go a bit more to the one or the other side. Would that be normal? Could well be, but perfect? Seems we might be helped by some AFAB dude's input here... Like straight from the horses mouth so to speak or straight from the... ah hum.

One thing seems to work best for me, I learned to hollow my lower back so the stream goes more down then forward. Could well be natal females do just that automatically? Who knows...? Them I guess :-)

As for some pains in the clit area I go along with the previous post completely - this is your ALARM BUTTON... and it is (at least initially) very, VERY over-sensitive. After I'm into 4th month post-op mine just now starts to 'settle down'.... slowly.

Lastly, if you use those acrylic type dilators, try after you lubed the things, to gently massage around the clit and lower down V entrance area with the side of that dildo tip. They very smooth, and it is soothing and relaxing - it may also just help with speeding up any healing process, due to increasing blood circulation et al.

Now take care,

Ya, this was my first thought about it...that I was just getting feeling back and with it being so new pain was the first feeling to come from there. It really sucked on friday, cause the stabbing pain was continuous, and got more intense and painful from the previous day. I slept through the following day (pain meds) and thankfully by Christmas is had subsided a good amount so I could enjoy the day. Just weird to me how it hit, cause I really did have very little pain in that area for most of the previous 2 weeks, and then all of a sudden I have pain that is more intense then anything I experienced after the surgery. I'm pretty active, and even managed to walk over to the mall when I was in thailand, about 4 hours after they took the catheter out.....and walking then was much more comfortable then it's felt the last few days.....so hopefully it gets in order. As for the pee stream, I wonder if it has anything to do with the stitches that are near it......it seems to favor the side the stitches lay on, but still, I seemed to pee better in my first few weeks then I do right now.

No, it was 100% pain. At it's worst it was a pulsing pain that was continuous and very annoyingly painful. The thing that made it unbearable at times was the fact it was just non stop over and over.......thankfully I was able to get some pain meds that took the edge off it a little, but of course not get rid of it. As I said
in the previous post, it kind of hit me weird....I just went from normal healing up, and being able to be active (3 hour walks in a mall, 8 hour tour around  thailand the friday before, playing pitch and putt lol) to having walking from room to room being terribly uncomfortable. Not sure if it's the normal for most, but it's just what I have been dealing with.

I never had any issues with urination, however, one of the issues which did arise down there was a massive yeast infection.....due to the overuse of topical/IV/Oral antibiotics; it was incredibly painful and of course I had no experience with this type of thing before. A script and couple of days later and I was just fine.

Oh my first urination was PERFECT AND STRAIGHT but then it became messy.  I was used to sitting and holding my legs open wide but a nurse told me to lean forward and close my legs completely and that stopped my urine from squirting all over the floor.  Now my clitoral pain was prevelant immediately after the packing removal.  it felt like someone was pulling me by my clit and dragging me upward but that went away like a mth later.  u will notice it to subside.  Most females have told me they have horrible streams also.  They must just start looking at public toilets and pee everywhere.  Trust me that isnt from a lot of post ops, that is from genetic females.
