Can anyone recommend a FFS surgeon (In the US) for those who already have feminine facial features and just want minor work done?

I have a nice face already but there are still some male features I'd like to get corrected and partial FFS would really enhance my face. I just wanted to get forehead work done and a nose job oh and maybe BA too lol. Which brings me to my next question, can you get FFS & BA at the same time?

Oh and BTW i'm only 4.5 months into HRT so would it be wiser to wait and see how the hormones work on me or would getting FFS early on be better? My grandparents are paying so money isn't an issue.

This is Dr. Spiegel's specialty and why I went to him. He's very, very good at making minor adjustments to androgynous or feminine faces without damaging what you already have. He also tends to go for a more conservative, natural look than some of the other doctors which I really like. He isn't cheap though - I spent $23,000 on forehead, nose, and tracheal shave. (http://www.drspiegel.com/)

It is possible to do FFS and BA at the same time, but Spiegel doesn't do BA and you'd have to ask him if it's possible to pair up his work with another doctor.

With jaw/chin/cheeks/lips it's definitely better to wait a good year and see what happens from the hormones. With forehead/nose the hormones are not going to have so much of an effect. I had my work done at 7 months on HRT.

BA is definitely one you'd probably want to wait for. In the first 2 years you'll see what you'll get from the hormones.

I'm sort of in a hurry to get some FFS done, but it would be wise to wait until the hormones have done their job probably for around/at least a year.  Obviously hormones won't change your bone structure, but they can influence and change certain parts of your face, so it's best to see what they do first before opting for any type of surgery (which would obviously be expensive, regardless of what part of the world it's done in).

Thx you so much Sarah! That's exactly the kind of surgeon I was looking for, i've been reading other peoples threads here in this section and alot of girls say they turn out looking like their sister which is pretty cool considering my sis is really pretty. We already look alot alike so this should be interesting to say the least.  :D

Oh and Btw, $23k for everything like doctor's fees, anesthesia, hotel accommodations etc or was that just for the surgery itself?

I'm a B cup already so I guess i'll just wait and see what happens.

That's for everything other than travel and post-operative hotel accommodation.

Oh ok thanks for clearing that up, that's not really that bad. I was thinking somewhere around 30-35k for the forehead, nose, trach and all other expenses.

No problem!

The total wasn't quite that much - about $26,500 including hotel (you get a big medical discount ~50% off) and flights for my mum and sis to come look after me.

And, no, it isn't really that expensive from my perspective. I consider it a very worthwhile investment in my future. :)

The other thing that I would always recommend for people considering FFS is http://www.virtualffs.co.uk/ . The price is insignificant compared to the actual surgery, the artist who does the renderings has quite a good eye, and it's nice to get a second opinion from someone totally unbiased. Spiegel also likes to have the pics if you do decide to go with him.

$23k? now im really curious, did he do a brow reduction by shaving the brow or reconstruction? and did he do the orbitals of your eyes also with the brow?

would you feel comfortable pm'ing me some before after pictures? ive seen good work from him and really debating going to him

With Spiegel it wouldn't matter what I had done to my brow, the price is the same package ($9000 + anaesthetic & hospital room) for all forehead work together. I had my orbitals shaved, my brow ridge shaved and set back with two titanium screws and bone paste, a 1 cm hairline advancement, re-contouring of my hairline to round it off, and a very slight brow lift. I adore the work he did. It's like having the effects of puberty scraped off my face.

Unfortunately, I'm not comfortable providing pics. I'm stealth and I don't like releasing pics to people I don't know very well. Sorry. :(

There is a woman on these forums, Butterflyhugs, who posted before and afters with Spiegel. Her results are quite lovely. Perhaps you'd like to have a look? https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,107430.msg815084.html#msg815084

Send photos to several doctors and get different opinions. Find out which one you like the best. I used Dr Z and I never regretted it.

well the only reason im on the fence is because i have seen lots of Dr. Spiegels work and it is amazing how he shapes the face so naturally, now im in canada and my other option is a Dr. Bensimon out of montreal were i will most likely get my srs done by brassard, i haven't found much info or before after pictures of bensimons work so im skeptical of going to him since might be a bit new to the ffs procedures, but since its in canada i save a lot on medical charges, i just don't want pinch my penny's and regret it later

Dr Spiegel does not offer BA, however, he does recommend another surgeon. He may be willing to pair up?

Yeah she is really pretty, she had alot of androgynous features in her face before surgery so Dr. Spiegel had a better canvas to work with. There is another girl who posted on here not long ago and she also had surgery who Dr. Spiegel and she looks absolutely fabulous! I think her name was elle2011?

I can't WAIT to have my surgery which will hopfully be sometime this year!   :icon_joy:
