A transgender child in the Girl Scouts

http://www.scpr.org/programs/patt-morrison/2012/01/13/22109/transgender-scouts-who-is-and-isnt-allowed-to-be-a

Many people love the crunchy sweet taste of Girl Scout cookies, but not everyone loves the inclusion of a transgender child into the actual Girl Scouts organization. Last fall, the Girl Scouts of the USA admitted then 7-year-old Bobby Montoya, a child born a boy, but who identifies as a girl, to a troop in Colorado.

Both widespread backlash and support have followed that decision. "For 100 years, Girl Scouts has prided itself on being an inclusive organization serving girls from all walks of life," Girl Scouts of the USA has said in a statement. "We handle cases involving transgender children on a case by case basis with a focus on ensuring the welfare and best interests of the child in question and the other girls in the troop as our highest priority." But in a video posted to the site HonestGirlScouts.com, a 14-year-old girl who only identifies herself as Taylor and a Girl Scout herself rails against the decision, and calls for a boycott of Girl Scout cookies in protest. "Right now, Girl Scouts of the USA ... is not being honest with us girls, its troops, its leaders, its parents or the American public," she says in the video.

This one again.

I take some issue with McDonalds. So, I try to start a boycot of its Ronald McDonald. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_McDonald

Not it's odd food as a whole.

Not it's restaurants or even a particularly one.

Just Ronald McDonald.

That's what is actually happening here.

Moreover, the way this child is presenting her case has the stamp of adults all over it. Since she is clearly not an adult herself, that must mean she is being used.

This was my response as posted on the 89.3 KPCC site:

Virginia

I wanted to be a girl scout as a child but was denied and thrust into the cub/boy scout organization where I had one horrible experience after another : (
I was picked on, called bigoted names and beaten up because I was naturally effeminate. I wish no-one to endure the hell I went through

I applaud and support the GSUSA for their decision to include trans children

I'm buying cookies!!!
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS
