@Luc Ya. Basically, what VeryGnawty said. It's a clever storyline and well the potty jokes just get really old, this actually has jokes that make me laugh. Plus the interesting and colourful characters.

The only reason I recognized the subject of this thread is because someone called into Porc Therapy to talk about being a My Little Pony fan. It was quite enlightening. I had no idea there was a show. I only knew of them from the toy commercials.

I may not have had the My little Pony toys when I was little, And I might have had to go over to a girl friend's house to play with them, But that doesn't make me any less happy discussing  this almost missing part of my childhood. Nor will I be silent about it!
Telling people to let a thread die, a thread that has opened up a shared commonality where we can talk about something that brings us closer together, especially when it's still relevant to our lives, is just plain mean.

i'm gonna jump in here.... i'm not an MLP fan.  to be honest, i really can't stand the show.  but that's my opinion and i have the choice of simply avoiding this thread.  i don't think it's irrelevent to a forum of guys who are looking for shared interests and want to socialise with other FTMs who're into the same things, and while you could argue that it might be better in general discussion, the question is specific to guys, given that MLP is notorious for its male following and the term 'bronies'.

*Sighs and shakes her head* Yes it is relevant. The guys, they got to play with MLP toys. the girls didn't. How is that not relevant? here at Susan's, things can be a little opposite compared to the outside world. The guys here talk about how they cope with periods and the girls are glad they dont get morning wood anymore. These are all relevant experiences to our lives. But since MLP has made a comeback and only gotten better, why can't I hang around with the boys who obviously know more about them than I do?

And what makes this any less relevant than some of the other, more  unusual threads?

It is pretty relevant, though.  It's already brought up discussion about which toys people were allowed to play with, just because of the sex someone was assigned at birth.  Keaira has talked about how she wasn't allowed ponies.  And I never got a Hot Wheels set or Ninja turtles for birthdays or Christmas--though I got plenty of dolls and pink stuff.  I'm sure a lot of people here could tell similar stories about not being given toys or only allowed to play with certain toys because of their biological sex.  Toys are pretty strictly gender-policed (with many parents and also with the toy companies going with "what sells").  Toys are one big area where kids first start learning about gender stereotypes.  So it's pretty significant that you have guys crossing the gender divide to watch and/or collect something aimed at girls.  It's a quality show that appeals to both boys and girls, whether they're adults or kids.

Maybe because it's more socially acceptable for girls to play with both genders toys? Hmm.

I wouldn't call myself a fan of the My Little Pony series, but I figured I'd throw this out.

I took notice of this somewhere in the first season of this show, the person who wrote the story for this is Lauren Faust, wife of Craig McCracken...

Both of them were responsible for the Powerpuff Girls.
