Anyone heard of SCP?  It's a wiki and each page has details on anomalous entities with supernatural effects.  The page typically has details on special containment procedures, descriptions and experiment logs.  Some of these pages are just downright creepy and more unnerving and horrific than some of the best creepypastas I've read.

But what stand out are the joke pages.  Not all of them rely on in-jokes you'd only understand if you've read some of the highest rated pages.  One joke page which comes to mind is this:

I am familiar with SCP and that made me laugh.

The other thing today - my kid was talking about school and I kind of idly asked who on her bus was throwing shoes all the time, and how she stayed calm during that. She told me the kid's name, and said he's mostly nonverbal but that he's really smart. I can dig that, okay. People are different. But then she told me that when he gets upset all he can say is "waffles" because his favorite thing is a toy waffle. Omg that is so much better than what most of us say when we're angry.

I went to buy a snack at the store I worked at years ago. The cashier (my old boss, who has no idea) goes "Hi birthname!" And I look at her and go "Hi bossname." Her face was PRICELESS. Her jaw literally dropped a little. I wonder if she saw my beard shadow or not.

An enterprising ice-cream van owner in my neighbourhood has changed his van's jingle to the theme tune from the famous British (football) TV show Match of the Day, presumably in honour of the World Cup.

LOL in theory - but reality gives that joke a subtle hidden punchline that makes it even better, especially considering that this is a very touchy subject in the UK.

The NHS does not treat foreign citizens for any long-term illnesses, so you'd have to pay in full or go back home, and your travel insurance would only pay to get you back home. So instead of ripping off the British taxpayer for some very expensive treatment, you'd pay for an expensive foreign holiday, expensive travel insurance, and you'd still be liable for your own medical bills.

Now that's what I call a punchline.
