A Transsexual Woman, or A Woman?
The Gazette

"Many women I know who have transitioned have gone on to blend in, and have little or nothing to do at all with trans issues anymore. They don't consider themselves to be transsexuals or transgender people or even trans women. Just women.

I can understand how the media gets it wrong sometimes — I have been referred to in various publications as a transsexual person and/or as a transgender person. There is a lot of confusion about trans-related labels in the media."

In some ways it still excites the imagination of the reporters.
It's actually a bit silly, you've done all of this to leave the past behind you and then comes a wise guy who knows better again.
People do not understand, you're a woman, you're doing the womanthings, everyone sees you as a woman, you have the feeling and thought of a woman, so in society, you fulfill the woman's role, but apparently it is necessary to refer to your past by narrow minded people.
I'm really getting tired of that, I mean, if a woman had an operation on her ankle, would they mention that?
No, and why, it does not excite the imagination, but when it has something to do with genitalia, wow, that's  worth to call it out loud.
It's embarrassing and hurtfull.
So, are they stupid or are they stupid?

What they are is bad journalists for not asking, on a case-by-case basis, how a person wishes to be referred to. Because some post-transition men and women do not wish to be referred to as trans, and some do. And the best/only way to find out is to ask. Simple courtesy.
