Who gives you strength?

I thought we could use this thread to acknowledge the special people in our lives.  Who gives you strength to persevere?  Is there a friend or family member who inspires you to be yourself?  Who do you turn to when you feel the road is blocked?  Do/does these/this people/person know of your trans*/other status and, if so, have they been supportive?  My strength is my wife and sister.  My sister doesn't know I'm trans or if she does hasn't made an issue of it.

My mum and a couple of friends.. They have all had some strife in their lives and the knowledge that they made it through helps me.. And when I'm feeling down, they always know how to cheer me up.. :)

A lot of people, now that I think about it. My ex did for a long time. I also find that the university gives me a lot of strength. I have so many people in my department who are overwhelmingly supportive. Not just of me being trans, but of my goals in general. They remind me if someone is doing something to hurt me and remind me that it's OK to stand up for myself, be proud of myself, to work hard and be the best I can be.

Kia Ora K,

::) Even though I had good friends, family members, plus medical and mental health staff who supported me, however when I transitioned 10 years ago it was my children's 'unconditional love' that gave me strength ...

I'm really greatful for the online friends that I have that supports me but I wouldn't say they give me strength.  Actually the special person who gives me the strength to preserve is an anime character.  She is Haruka Tenoh from Sailor Moon.  I don't have anyone who I am close to that gives me strength because I basically would know where they would stand on the issue when I will come out to them.  My dad knows but isn't supportive.  Hell he even told me he's not the guy to be talking to about this.

I strongly admire Haruka.  She is like me in some ways.  She has the fiercest will and drive to succeed out of anyone I know.  She is a very strong woman who would do whatever it takes to get the job done and that is something I admire.  I've kept her with my since about 7th or 8th grade.  When I feel alone and want to give up I think about her and how she inspires me.  She has gotten me through many hard times in my life.  I believe that many people have an inner warrior/battle spirit that is like their energy drink to the finish line.  For me my inner battle spirit is her and chances are that will never change.  She may not be real in this earthly realm but she is just as real in my heart and is the one person that keeps me going.  I know that with the Deity of the Sky by my side, I may just perservere.

Aside from her I say this this site gives me a lot of strength as most of you guys and ladies are just nothing but awesome and supportive.

My best friend used to give me a lot of strength but is no longer in my life.

Now, I draw strength from within myself. Nature also lends me strength when I need an extra boost. Nothing beats a walk along the shore or among trees that are older than me.

Me I had no one and when I say no one it's ABSOLUTELY NO ONE. I began my journey all alone and I'm still all alone and will always be alone.
