As legal protections for trans people are being debated in Baltimore County our friends in the opposition, namely Dr. Ruth Jacobs and her organization, Citizens for a Responsible Government (CRG), have come out of the woodwork to complain about trans people taking their rightful place among all parties in society. I have to take exception with one of the claims in their propaganda. Truth be told, I take exception with most of their claims but in this case I will deconstruct just one example.

The quote reads as follows:

    The Maryland Assembly rejected a similar "gender identity" bill last year when it realized that the Boy Scouts could be forced to hire cross-dressing women as Scout leaders.

I am a "recovering" Scoutmaster. Prior to transition, I was the Scoutmaster of my local troop where my son was a Scout. I was trained as a leader in Scouting and later went on to become an instructor of that same training, as well as completing the highest level of training in Scouting, the Wood Badge. For those in the know, I am an "Owl".

Naysayers tend to eventually resort to threatening our children.

They did it with gay. In the 60s, the talk was, all gay people are obscessed with bottoms. Children will all be abducted by these homos.

They did it with immigrants. Immigrants carry disease which will affect our children. Muslims are 'forcing our young girls to become prostitutes.

It's a desperate move. This article is a well written testamony and others like it, along with calm, reflective resistance to these idiots is the better way forward.
