Hi
I live in San Jose, CA. I would like to start transitioning, how can i start and what doctors do you recommend in my area?

Hi Diana and welcome.
Being on the other side of the Pacific I can't help with doctors, but California seems to be a good place to live if you are trans.  You have come out to the most important person; yourself.  From here your path will gradually become clearer.  Sometimes the road is bumpy, but at least you have found the right one.

I started by reading everything I could get my hands on and found a Gender Therapist.  Until I actually started making changes I did a lot of discrete people watching at work and elsewhere, to see how women did things different to men.  As I had expected I actually had a lot of the body language and mannerisms lurking just under the surface.  I expect a lot of others had the same feeling.

Karen.

Hi Diana  :)

Lucky you to live in an area fertile with trans resources  :)

Start off with a gender therapist/psychologist and get a recommendation for HRT, have your hormone levels monitored by an endocrinologist or a doctor that is familiar with trans issues

Work on refining your 'girl' while you save up for SRS  :)
The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS
