So yes, I finally told my Mum I wanted bottom surgery. Her response was positive, and I knew it would be. She is incredibly supportive about my entire transition, in a way she always knew I was different. Sure, she went through the sad part of losing a daughter, but she got over it because in her words she gained a son.

Anyway, I was looking for some input from some guys who have had phalloplasty or are in the same boat as me. At the moment I am pretty sure I would like the procedure done by Dr Djinovic and the Savo Perovic people in Belgrade. I'd like to hear about peoples experiences with any phalloplasty procedure, particularly if the procedure was done in Belgrade. How much pain were you in? Was it worth it? Can you PEE!? Do you feel more "complete"? Did your confidence improve?? etc etc etc etc...

I really want this procedure done, I can no longer live a happy life with my downstairs bits. They don't fit. They aren't right. They're just gross and shouldn't exist on me. I want to pee standing up. I want to pee on a pole. Or behind a tree. I don't want to have to use packers. I don't want to feel embarrassed that I use packers.

Any responses or input would be greatly appreciated.

I have been referred for the Phallo procedure, thats where I am at the moment.
Where abouts are you? Im not sure what the process is like for where you are, but I am happy to tell you of how things are going concerning lower surgery so far for me going down the NHS route in the UK.
I suggest you join the Ftm Phalloplasty group on Yahoo. Im on it, and I think that is the most informative site I have found over the years of research that is still running. There are many personaly accounts and pictures on there. :)

I've looked into it. Read a lot and joined all the groups. I think there has been improvements, but it's still not there yet. There is no erotic sensation.  Some people experience extreme pain when trying to have sex. It just doesn't seem worth it at this point.

Congrats! I have checked out Dr. Perovic myself. I decided a while ago that I prob wouldn't get bottom surgery, but I have changed my mind. Lol. I also want to pee properly. Their prices are actually very reasonable. 1) vaginectomy; 2) trans-vaginal hysterectomy (no visible scars); 3) oophorectomy (also know as ovariectomy - surgical removal the ovaries); 4) metoidioplasty; and 5) scrotoplasty, including testicular prosthesis. All this for about 15 000 Canadian dollars. Not bad. All done the same time, so its  really an investment if you're not planning on phallo.

That's awesome, nicks.  I second Make_It_Good's suggestion to join the FTM phalloplasty group on yahoo.  The Deciding Line and ftmsurgeryinfo would also be good to check out.

Also, Dr Perovic died in 2010.  His team split up and now it's Dr Rados Djinovic and Dr Miroslav "Miro" Djordjevic.  I don't know much about Rados's work or Miro's phallos though.

Who did you email?  If you emailed "the team", then it probably went to either Miro or Rados.

Best regards came from Richard RothHaas. Case manager. I just looked at the website he linked in for me. http://www.savaperovic.com/

It looks like that's the Perovic Foundation website.  In the upper left menu, it has a link to "Professor Sava Perovic 1947-2010" which includes a In Memoriam.  The actual "Perovic" surgeon (for that team) is Dr Rados Djinovic.  Like I said, he and Miro split in about 2006 I think.  IIRC Miro started his own practice and Rados continued to work with Perovic until he died in 2010.
