so i know smoking is extremely bad and deadly, for those on hrt. My past smoking habbits were not that bad, i usually went through one pack in a month. i recently stopped smoking all together as i just started hrt. the thing is i enjoy a good nicotine buzz from time to time. so i was wondering if it would still be safe to use electronic cigarettes since theres no carcinogens, or tar and all that nasty stuff. would it be safe to smoke e-cigs without having a heart attack...or dying?

The only point I'm going to make is that the gyno who looks after my hormones said no smoking and no substitutes.. Nicotine is the substance that causes the clotting issues..

If you are also faced with that decision, I understand that some of the stop smoking books available are quite good.

I had to stop my precious puff about a year ago, but for different reasons from you. I am permitted a substitute though. I now use lozenges and am down to the smallest size, about 3 a day. I suppose if it became necessary I could stop those.

But it does kinda reinforce the message to kids, that the only way to stop smoking is not to start.
