If you cut it extremely short, you'd probably pass better....

I think I might pass worse. I have a vary female face so having extremely short hair would just make me look like a butch girl instead.

A lot of people have this problem pre-HRT.

However, having long hair pre-HRT is probably going to help most pass a lot less than if they were to keep it short.
I think that's the point that the people who have commented so far are trying to make.

Wow thanks I really didn't think I can smile and pass.
Sparrow, I don't think you should get an extremely sohrt haircut just shorter than now. I don't know what's your style but imo an "emo" haircut would look more masculine on you, not short enough to pass worse but short enough to look more male.

I'm pre-T yes. Waiting to get it right now. It seems I have to wait 2-3 mounts before I know if I can take it. So I really want to try to pass meanwhile. I really want to hear what I can do in order to pass better. I need glasses I don't know if that would help thought. Also what color are you talking about. Me is a little confused.

This is what I mostly look like (Also love my blank stare for some reason)

Yes I meant the hair color! :D I totally wanna dye mine white too.

Glasses can definitely help because guys don't get as many ways to change their face pre-T.  Short of cutting the hair you could also experiment with different parts and styles.  I think in the pic where your hair is kind of messily pushed back you look more masculine.

Normally my advice to FTMs for passing aside from HRT is to lower their bodyfat but tbh it looks like you are already at a lowish bodyfat and you just need to go on T.

It would be a pretty bad idea for me to loose more weight because I'm so close to be underweight due to body dysphoria. My hair is normally messy too so that's a good think I guess.

Also yes white hair is awesome. I have always wanted white hair red eyes and vary bright skin colour for some reason. Guess I'm just obsessed with albino people.

Jason I guess you are right. I think the reason why I don't want to shorten my hair is because a dude I once saw transition cut his hair short in the beginning and after that he was really annoyed because he did it.

Jared I'm aiming for something like this: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/41891199/Myrkgrav+l_f2e77cc180a444ba8a84d22f99c9.jpg
Btw a year ago I had 'emo' hair. I will post it if I find a picture of it.

Okay, so personally, I don't like men with long hair. I think it usually looks unkempt and unprofessional, but everyone has their own preferences to style and not everyone feels the way that I do - and I understand that. However, if you want to have the style that you're aiming for Pre-HRT, you also have to make a decision as to how important potentially passing right now is to you.I can't see most (meaning there will be some exceptions) guys passing with hair like that until at least a year after having testosterone in their system, so if getting misgendered really bothers you, then you may want to try and cope with something else right now, keeping in mind that your hair can always grow back. If passing more at the moment is the lesser issue to you, then I say that you continue doing what you're doing in hopes that you start HRT in the near future.

Totally aggree. But I think when you get to being on T for a while, this will look cool.

Maybe comb it differently before you cut it.  For example, maybe you might want to try combing your bangs out and trimming them instead of parting it in the middle.  Seems like a pretty popular style these days, and you don't have to look like Justin Bieber to have long bangs.  I have angled bangs that start really short on one side and end up really long on the other--pretty popular among Asian guys like me, and pretty universal, too.  I dunno.  Just an alternative suggestion befoer you start chopping it all off.

Sparrow - I have a face that is quite feminine like yours, and I actually pass better with longer hair. I have cut it short on numerous occasions, in different styles, hoping to pass better. but I passed even less, which I didn't think was possible, lol. Plus, because it's thick it would always force itself up and be all fuzzy...one of my friends on here called it the "vanilla ice" effect. So I am never cutting my hair short ever again. :P because she still doesn't let me live it down.

I personally think the long hair suits you. Some of us just need some time on T to pass properly. I'm 5.5 months in and I still struggle with passing, and I've seen people in a similar boat, but most get there eventually.

Found my glasses and I look more male now. Not sure if it's both because of my hair and the glasses. I'm going to post a picture tomorrow because it's too dark right now. Also thank you everyone for answering.

I had really short hair 2 years ago and looking back I really looked feminine because of it. It doesn't really suit me with short bangs (or whatever you want to call it).

Edderkopp I have 'naturally' fuzzy hair and I think that might be what makes me look so feminine. Does somebody know if it will stop after I get on T? I didn't have it before the female 'puberty', but after it my hair got all fuzzy and I got really short hair.

Either.  Is that really black or just really dark brown?  It looks good!  Black always looks fake to me maybe because I have naturally black hair.

It hasn't stopped for me after my time on T. My hair is a bit greasier, and I need less time between haircuts now, but it's fuzzy and thick still.

Edderkopp Then I will just be Mr. Fuzzy-guy

Dylan pass in the 2. picture, but not the first. You just look butch.

So how do I look? (yes maybe the fake facial hair was too much)

Maybe you could cut your hair just a little bit to look like this...

I'm sorry, but to be honest, I think you pass even less here.

Aw. Right now I wonder why I want to pass so bad. It's not like it would change anything. Everyone would still think of me as a girl.

Sparrowhawke - I feel as if you look more masculine without your glasses, it's almost as if your glasses may be framing your face in a more feminine way. Loads of guys have long hair, but I think it's more difficult for FTMs who feel more comfy with longer hair in terms of passing. I think this would change on T though, so once you give yourself time for T to work, your face will become more masculine and you'd pass better with long hair. I really do think you should keep the long hair though, especially if you want to keep it.

Also, don't be so hard on yourself - if you feel more masculine/feel like you look more masculine, then you'll feel more comfortable and that's what it would change - how comfortable you feel in yourself. Try not to focus too much on whether the people around you percieve you as male. It's how you feel inside which matters most.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Sparrowhawke I had a really long reply typed out while I was waiting for my train earlier but my phone threw a fit at having to handle so much text and I lost it all.  But it's worth remembering that a lot of cis guys struggle to look male with long hair, for example Sebastian Bach, and they've had T as their main hormone their whole life.

I also feel that you look less feminine without your glasses, and your eyebrows look pretty thin, and they stand out a little because your hair is very light while they're dark, which doesn't help much so maybe try not plucking them if you do.  I don't really know what else to suggest really if you're not up for cutting your hair except try and leave it pretty messy, most guys with longer hair don't look like they've brushed it except to run their fingers though it, which doesn't really count.

dylanjakoby  I'd say the darker hair looks better, but you're pictures aren't too easy to tell by.
