Oh. Well thanks for answering. I'm getting a shorter haircut later today and maybe I'll post a pic of it and not do a pose.

Just don't get it too short because then you will just end up looking butch.

jayson, I would say you pass from what iI can see, but it's hard to tell with your hair held up. I'm assuming your asian/of Asian decent, and 90pc of the Asian guys oI know have hair your  length

Hey guys,

For all those who want a little more constructive advice, not based just on pics- I posted a new thread for guys (or girls) to post a video. This will help us give you advice about your mannerisms and such. A picture isn't a helluva a lot to go off of.

here's the link: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,131439.msg1041089.html#msg1041089

cheers

I'm completely new here but I wanted to know if this is the thread to post pics to if we're pre everything? I want some opinions on how I should have my hair cut and if anyone thinks I could pass in the future

Just post it here. Remember that you don't have to cut your hair if you don't want to  ;)

Thanks, I really really really want to cut my hair though! I had 8 inches cut off in October and I'm ready to go really short now. I'm just clueless on what would look good on me :P

Don't go for a too short hair. Other than if you are one of the lucky people to be able to pull it off it is best to wait till after you start on T.

I hope I'm doing this right :P

I'm super flat chested so i've got that going for me I think

you pass in the first, but not really in the 2.

Your hair doesn't look feminine at all, but if you don't like it you don't like it. I think you might be able to pull vary short hair off, but I'm not sure.

I really don't think you pass in either of these and unlike Sparrowhawke, I do think the hair is quite feminine.
I'd say haircut is definitely warranted.

Thanks for the input everyone. I really appreciate it. I'm very pre-everything, I don't even own a binder yet :x. But yes the first "big" step i'm taking is going to the counselor on tuesday and I plan on getting my haircut after my husband comes home from his training.

You've got a great jawline that will strengthen even more if/when you go on T.

As far as the hair I would say cut it. I wouldn't go too short (as in "buzz cut" short) because it looks like you have a small frame and an extremely short cut will accentuate how small your head is. Cis men generally have a larger cranium than those of us FAAB.

DeeperThanSwords

I agree with Simon, you've got a good jawline, and a shorter haircut would help you pass.

The hairline might make the hair look feminine, but the way the hair is cut it does not look feminine. From what I can see it is not cut in layers. If it was I would agree with you. A buzz-cut would be just as feminine in this case as this. If not more. A little longer wouldn't hurt.

I think you have an odd perception of what society usually views as feminine, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I'm allowed to disagree with you and you're allowed to disagree with me.
I think they could pass with that hair if their face passed, but right now, in my opinion, it does not. I think longer hair is going to be extremely difficult for most people to pull off, especially if they're pre-T.

Thank you! I actually love my face structure. I've always thought I had a very masculine jawline, and my head is actually pretty big, maybe it's hard to tell from the pictures. I wasn't planning on going buzzcut short, i'm just wary of going for a cut and it turning into a pixie type cut which is what i'm really trying to avoid.

Find a picture of a guy online who has hair you like and take the picture with you. When you get in the chair tell them that is exactly what you want. I did that a lot in the beginning. The first few times I did get "that is a man's cut" but just reaffirm that is exactly how you want it done. Shouldn't really have any issues that way...and keep an eye on them about those infernal V cut sideburns, some will try to sneak that in, lol.

First try at pre-everything make-up. How did I do? Someone on FTM UK said I look "Beowulfy".

For being young, I'm not very tech savy :p

For future reference, just copy the IMG code on the right side of the photo you want to share and paste it in a message.

Yes, you definitely pass for a young teen boy. A more mature hairstyle might add a few more years on you, imo.
