I've been on T for about 2 and a half years now.  I still don't pass to myself in pictures.   I suppose it might help if I had a beard and didn't wear a Rainbow Dash hoodie.  However, I like being clean shaven and Rainbow Dash is best pony, well second to Luna.  Still I have no problem passing on the street.

What's your opinion?  Also how old do you think I look?  I did gain some weight recently with moving and getting settled in a new place.  Getting back in shape is priority number one for the New Year.

Honestly, I'd say you look androgynous in the pics. I don't think I'd know how to take you and would probably rely on other clues such as voice. Pics only tell part of the story. That being said, you pass perfectly in your avatar. Must be the stubble?

I think being taken as androgynous makes you look more your age. Otherwise, I might have guessed a lot younger. Also, it's pretty hard to judge visual age when you already know how old a person is.  :P
And what weight gain?  I don't see an inch on that figure.

btw who in the heck is Luna and what is she the best at?

@Fat Admin - It seems you see me as I do.  Yeah the stubble helps and I do grow some in after a day.  I had just shaved before those pictures were taken.  In day to day life people don't even stop to question any more.  I believe I am male and I believe I deserve the respect of a person who has made up his mind.  No one is greater than me and I am not greater than anyone else.  Believe me, it took me a very long time to develop that attitude.  It went against everything I was taught growing up.  Mainly that the bigger people know better than me and I should just be quiet and let them make my choices for me.  As a child that went for all adults.  As I grew older that turned those who are perceived better by the society, namely men.  In the last few years I have transformed myself into a independent thinking adult who want to know how and why everything works, not just that it does work.

Like soulfairer said, it's more then small visual hints like nails and stubble that communicates who I am to people.  It took time and then I developed the attitude of looking people straight in the eye, ready to stand my ground for anything at any time.  In addition I'm working hard at erasing words like 'perhaps' from my vocabulary.  It's important to trust my words enough not to have offset them with a perhaps.  To be definitive and sure in everything I say.  I am still a nice person, and I value my own feelings above those of anyone else.   It is possible to be that way without being a jerk.  In addition I am working on only saying or feeling 'sorry' when I have actually have hurt someone not because I inconvenienced someone accidentally.

By the way, I do firmly believe that women are just as capable as men.  However the world shows them that less is expected of them and for them in terms of brainpower.  That being pretty conquers the day and accomplishing that wins them the best seat at the best table.  Still I think the world is changing for better in that regard and more women are believing in themselves, not just in how they look.

But even those small visual hints may be countered. As I said, few people even thought of me being gay! I use a lot of 'perhaps', but it's the way 'perhaps' is used that matters. The 'trusted perhaps' is even better! We shouldn't 'limit' our vocabulary, I think. The way we use it, though, is the key. And without being a jerk :)

Nowadays it's been said that I'm almost 'female', but every time I need to counter that, I just wear my invisible suit. And when I don't need it, I wear my invisible skinny jeans, but hey, I actually use them a lot! (no, no skirts or dresses)

Of course it's the whole package (pun).  Everything together makes up the way a person is perceived.  Overall I believe it is most important to know who you are and show that to the world without flinching.

If someone questions your hands, answer "oh, do you like them? these do WONDERS!". hahahahahahahahahaha!

I like to present male, but as a female. The whole opposite. I didn't post a photo here because I'm not FtM. Should I?

Ty, if you want to have your hair cut that way then do it. It is a very "mature" (older man) hairstyle but the great thing about hair is if you don't like it you can always change it.

Ty, I agree with simon....I'm all for changing it up, but that is definitely a cut more for older guys.  I think the cut you have now looks great and is very age appropriate.  But who knows you could get the christian bale cut and just love it! Let us know how it goes!

simon: its more that i want a cut that i dont have to style as much, something i can just comb through with my hands and it'll look ok. not sure if the christian bale cut would work that way but it seems like it lol

Ty, I think that will work well for you, I had mine a little bit similar to that last year, and it did take a little styling, but not much.  It didn't look hideous without it either though.

I got my hair cut yesterday, and finally got it cut really short again.  My nan made sure that she knew it was her 'granddaughter', but my mum offered to explain how I wanted it cut -- I think this might be her way of accepting me at last because she kept suggesting I go to a barbers (or maybe she just wants me to stop moaning about how awful the hairdresser near me is) -- and the hairdresser just said "oh so a standard men's short back and side then?", to which we said yes.  She did point out that she was going to leave the bits in front of my ears tapered, but I just took a razor to that when I got home, and charged me £8.50 instead of £7.50 for a men's cut, but it's a bargain anyway!

I appologise for the instagram, but it's the only photo I have atm.  I'm not sure whether it's too revealing of my skull shape, and I forgot my scar on the back of my head makes me look like I'm going bald (it's been pointed out 4 times already) but never mind, it feels so good to have no hair down the sides or my neck anymore!

Alex, I think it looks great on you (and yes I think you pass).

So I got a haircut a while ago, and some clothes for Christmas- and today I found something very helpful for flattening chesticles that was laying around in a drawer no one ever goes in- it's probably been there for years.  (Of course, all my winter stuff is in there too, which is annoying because I literally have to climb on the dresser to get to that drawer. Today I'm thankful it's in my room, where I can pull off this epically lame stunt behind a closed door  :P)

And here's a picture to show off my sweatshirt and awesome flannel sheets. First time I'm not mortified of anyone seeing my room- it actually looks masculine now!

Edit: Pictures removed! I'd rather not have any hanging around right now.
Sorry for the bad lighting. Any advice?

Alex- Dude, that haircut looks awesome! I wish my mom would let me actually cut it short. Congrats on completely rockin' the new cut. 300% pass to me.

Edit: Added the second pic just to give a different angle and to show the effect with something a little less baggy than the sweatshirt.

I think you're adorkable  :) (diggin' the Bazinga hoodie). I know it's stressful for you not to be allowed to cut your hair short. Fought with my parents until I was 15 about my own. I will say I think you're androgynous. With a binder on I would more than likely think you were a little skater boy if I seen you in public.

Haha thanks. Love the hoodie too. First time I've liked a Christmas present from my family out in Nowhereland.

I had a nice moment recently confusing this poor girl because apparently my school thinks slapping a paper sign that says girls' bathroom makes it obvious that an androgynous kid standing in a bathroom with urinals is actually for girls. The guys even still use it when no one else is there (though I suppose that's rather risky- can't imagine what an unsuspecting girl would do if she walked in on a guy using a urinal). Next time someone asks me if that's the girls' bathroom, I'll just tell them no :3
It's funny because usually the moobs hide nicely, but they decide to advertise themselves when I'd like them not to.
Oh well, I guess that's how life works.

Btw- used to skateboard back when I was younger, joined a club in my school but then it disbanded. I have my dad's old sidewalk surfer, which I cleaned the rust off of and annoyed my mom to death by riding back and forth in the house on until she went out and got me something I could actually take outside without worrying about it getting stolen. Come to think of it, I should probably start that up again when it's not so horrid out.
I swear, someday I will get a binder, and that will be a very happy day for me.

i dont usually smile in photos because i think it makes me look a lot younger, but anyway, how old do i look?

Joe.

Alex - Your haircut is amazing man! Couldn't believe that I was looking at the same person. I have no doubt in my mind about you passing, you pass 100%.

Liminal Stranger - Like Simon said, I think you look like a little skater boy. I think you look young, but you pass ok to me from those pictures. Maybe not 100% but in the future I think you will look great.

Michael - I'd say you look about 18-20? Looking good though :)

I'd peg you around 19 or 20, Michael. And whether you look younger or not, that smile certainly suits you. I wouldn't even question you being a guy- looking pretty good there, dude!
