That's actually my age anyway haha. Yes, some men do have boobs some are muscle, but most are fat...I'd prefer them to be muscle in my honest opinion

Pretty much the same situation here; someone actually thought I was 10 or 11 not too long ago  . At least you guys pass all the time 
OTOH, one of the workers in the diner I went to today called me "buddy" even with my mother's attempts to be a megaphone and shout my name when conversing (and making sure the waitress knew I was a she unnecessarily by speaking for me yet again). That was a nice ego boost.

@spring I have girls legs too. That's my weakness, but usually I wear a compression shirt under a t shirt so it conceals my chest and I just look like a little guido meathead thing with overly large pecs haha

For some reason, my facial hair doesn't show up in pictures, I actually do have quite a noticeable load of black hair on my upper lip. Don't get me wrong I'm no Tom Selleck...but it's definitely there 😛 so try to take that into account while looking at my mug shots.

I'm basically wondering if I can get away with making more of an effort with my appearance, I would love to be able to wear makeup and have emo-rocker hair....I'm growing my hair long so it's a bit of a state at the moment growing out of a short back and sides style.

In the first two pictures there's no makeup, and my hair is not styled in any way. Then I put on eyeliner and styled my hair for comparison. What do you guys think? Does it make much of a difference?

For the record out in the real world I pass around 50% of the time which is a vast improvement from a few months ago; and I tend to look how I do in the first two pictures. I may post a video at some point so you can judge the whole package and not just an image 😛 but for now:

I think you have less of a chance of passing with the makeup and styled hair.  I don't feel you pass particularly well in the first two either, so you would definitely need to pass a lot more strongly before you could pull off a "rocker look".

Jeatyn, I kind of have to agree with wheat thins; the eyeliner & 'rocker hair' may. Not help you right now....but I think in the first 2 pics you pass.  I might suggest (just my opinion) to get rid of the glasses & opt for contacts if you're able. Otherwise you look great!

I agree with Wheat. I don't think you pass very well yet and the manscara and guyliner doesn't help. I'm thinking in the top two pics it might be the haircut and the glasses that hinder you from passing more. On the bright side, in a year it won't be a question anymore since you're on T.

That is, if he responds well to testosterone and changes drastically.
I hate to be harsh, but I don't think he passes at all in any of those pictures and he is probably going to have to change a lot facially for me to think he actually does pass; on the other hand, testosterone can make room for a lot of those changes - I am actually one of those guys who experienced drastic changes with HRT. I'm going to echo what everyone else said about Jeatyn and recommend he hold off on makeup as it can cue androgyny, if you're not already extremely masculine looking.

Even without T, most likely your face would change in a few years once you loose some of that softness on your face and you start getting the sleep-deprived, hungry for coffee look. But, since you're on T now, if you respond well that should help you pass a lot better.

I'm only nineteen and people tell me I pass for older than my age after being on HRT. I couldn't even pass for thirteen beforehand.

My glasses really? Interesting, I posted a few months ago in a thread entitled "why don't I pass?" and the consensus there was that the glasses were helping 😀 Just took this now to compare:



For the record I'm in my PJ's, not regular every day clothes.

I know I don't pass well and I really appreciate the honesty. I was worried everyone would be too afraid of offending anyone to tell the truth instead of being helpful 😛 I may pop in more often.

I'm sort of getting to the point now that I don't really see the point in trying too hard because I don't pass anyway if you know what I mean? Hence starting to grow my hair out. I figure I just have to wait for the T to kick in before I get anywhere so I may as well have my look the way I want it.

Edit: Just grabbed an old picture, do the piercings and shorter hair help at all?
