I'm 5'5 and 200lbs. I wear a Large. Chest 40 Bust 47. That gives me 43.5. I find the tightness very comfortable I could easily sleep in it.

29+32 = 61
61/2 = 30.5
I would go with an X small.

I was 5'7" and 115 lbs when I first got one. XS fit me then. I highly recommend black. My white one is discolored and also even when it was new it just looked too medical, imo.

I find that dark binders can become a problem when you wear lighter colored shirts though, so I think this is also something for someone to keep in mind, depending on the person.
Also, Felix, if you soak your binder in some laundry detergent a couple of hours before washing it, it might get most of the discoloration out - this usually works for me, so it's worth trying this if you haven't.

I'll try that.

Also I didn't think of the light colored shirt thing. That would look a little weird. I'm so clumsy and reckless (and have a kid who is too) that I try not to own anything white or light colored myself.

Been thinking about getting a binder too (first one). Was looking at the 997, but just wanted some feedback on it before purchasing. Does it bind well? I have yet to measure myself. I'm 5'10" 125lbs, if that helps. Not really big up there. Once I measure, how accurate is the sizing on underworks?

Was also looking at the 988 since the shoulder strap thing ( I don't know what's it called lol) is thinner than the 997. But I don't know how effective that is as far as binding or if it makes a difference at all.

Holy gosh you're skinny. Anyway I've only gotten the tritop and the long double panel thing from them (997 and 983) but their sizing instructions were perfect for me. I'm not familiar with the 988 but I like the wider shoulder straps because if they show they look less like bra straps. That's just me. I really love the tritop. I was skeptical because it looks a little like a bra before you cover it up with a shirt, but I find it's more comfortable and binds better than the 997.

When I was binding, I didn't get the best fit by following the sizing charts at this company. They may have changed the charts since then--and my body might just be weird--but I wound up needing a size smaller than the size chart indicated.

Really skinny guys might have to go to that other place. Crap, what's the name of the Asian company that has the smaller sizes? My brain is not cooperating.

Is it T-Kingdom?

I do notice that Underworks changes up their details somewhat often, and that may include their sizing specifications. But then you might have a weird body, or I might.

Good point with the straps. In my opinion the tritop looks kinda odd but it would be covered anyway so doesn't really matter. As far as binding goes though is there that big of a difference between 997 and 983? Leaning towards 997 since it looks like an under shirt.

I initially chose the 997 for this reason. There's a huge difference between the two. The 983 compresses better and doesn't roll up. Some people are more comfortable having compression over the entire torso though, and a lot of people wear both.

I wouldn't advise sleeping in even a looser one because from what I've heard, it can deform your rib cage over time. And then your chest will look like a casserole of ->-bleeped-<- when you do get surgery.

Your chest needs to breathe, so to speak, so I'd give it a break at night. Especially since no one sees you in your sleep and you're not even aware of it.

Take my advice or don't. Just what I'd do.

Agree, but I won't say take my advice or don't. On this I'll say please take my advice. You'll regret it if you don't. Don't bind any time you can make do without, and don't bind when you know you'll be unconscious.

Yes, the other company is T-Kingdom. Thanks, Felix.

I used to hate that whole time between taking off my binder and finally falling asleep. I would get a ridiculous urge to get back out of bed and put my binder on, even the loosest one I had. Anything so I didn't have to feel those things on my chest.

I had the strongest urge the night before my top surgery.

Yeah. Sometimes I stay up just because I don't want to take that step before bed.
