For the first time in ages, I am intentionally TAKING A DAY OFF.

I have to say, it's been weird.

Started a blog. Again. Hopefully I'll take some time to rant on it when i can't really express what's going on. Zack gets so upset when i can't talk about my feelings n' junk, but i just can't.

And I...well no that's all I've done so far. I don't really feel like getting out of the house today....ugh.

Okay, so Saturday, mom and I went out to the grocery store, but first she wanted to go to the Salvation Army and Goodwill. I still felt like crap, but may as well get out. Wasn't in the mood to shop at first, but found a really nice top at the first Goodwill we stopped in at.

By the time we were at the second Goodwill I was feeling a bit better, just hungry since I avoided eating since I wasn't feeling good enough to feel I had to call out from work. While there I found 5 really pretty dresses, two of them unfortunately didn't fit. Two others I passed on, one being too long for summer even though it looked and fit really great on me, and the other had such a pretty pattern but was v-shaped front and back and I couldn't see me wearing it with too much chance of a booby or both popping out for display, so I reluctantly put that back too. I got one dress, but a really pretty one.

Yesterday I finished up the cross-stitch I had been working on. This one is taken from the introduction to the Famicom game, Magic Candle. It took me 11 hours to complete, though over the course of a week and a half.

Played a little bit of Playstation, brainstorming ideas to cross-stitch, messaged a few friends. Haven't done anything else worth mentioning without going into detail, just the same usual stuff.

Glad you're feeling better, the dress is pretty on you, but maybe you make the dress look pretty.

WoW! Megan you look very beautiful! I love the top and the dress both and they look fabulous on you. I'm happy your feeling better as well. I actually buy the same type of outfits myself and love shopping at Goodwill. Unfortunately I don't have one closeby, but there is one in Brooksville I have to go right by on my way to my Endo and I always stop to see what's new every 3 months or so on my way for an Endo visit. I do have a couple of local thrift stores where I find some great outfits at great prices, but they don't have the variety of selection Goodwill does.
I'm also happy to see your sharing your cross stitches letting us see how talented you are!

What did I do today? I gave my hair some much needed attention to combat frizz and this humidity. It's so nice and soft right now I can't stop running my fingers through it!
I also fixed one of my computers that went down last night.

Thank you Ali.  :)

I seem to always find dresses at Goodwill even though I don't always buy them, they cost a bit which keeps me from getting everything that I see that looks and fits nice. Tops tend to be a little more difficult to find in my size and what I like, but I've done pretty good so far with a few. I never look for bottoms, not yet.

Always nice to have a good hair day.  ;)

Okay, so being unable to decide on what to stitch for a time I mostly didn't do much today, until this evening when I went ahead and did something. Have me an idea of making earrings out of cross-stitches, so starting out with something very small, low stitch count, super quick to finish, the Faerie from Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. I would be stitching both animation frames, one for each ear. I know I probably should have done these on plastic canvas, it'd been easier to have them already in a nice solid wearable form, but I hate working with that crap, so stuck with the black aida I always use. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to turn these into earrings but they're done anyway, I'll figure that part out later. The first Faerie took me a half hour to complete, my quickest cross-stitch yet, while the second, it took the same amount of time stitching but probably close to four times that time altogether with picture taking and video creation.

Here's the Faeries. Sorry they're so tiny, but didn't feel like having to enlarge them.

And both stitchings completed.

When stitching the second one (the one in the pic on the left) I took snapshots after stitching every X, taking a total of 60 of them, had me an idea, something new to do. Once finished, loaded the pictures into my computer then each at a time into the Window Movie Maker. Hopefully I'll be able to do this as every time I use this program the laptop fan whirs really fast and CPU usage starts going up and keeps going up until my laptop shuts down. But this is a really short clip, so hopefully no problems arise. I saved my project after loading pics up just in case. Saved the movie, all good, fan kicked into high gear but it was only a handful of seconds. Then I loaded up Zelda II in the NES emulator, checked length of intro song, 1:07, okay, recorded a .wav of it. Changed video duration in the movie maker, then added the recorded music, saved it. Ah, not bad. And this was my first time doing something like this, any other thing I'd ever done was just splitting or clipping the length of a video so I'm glad this little project turned out to be quite easy. Uploaded to Youtube.

And there you have it. That was some work to do, but quite fun, I may actually think about doing this again, maybe more extensive. We'll see.  :)

This is humorous and probably inappropriate but it reminded me of Megan Joanne's recent experiences with construction workers.

Felt sick this morning, much like how I did this past Saturday, have no idea why, but better by afternoon. As for what I've done with my day so far, played with my dog, worked on a sprite, something that was originally going to be for the Sprite Stitch silhouette challenge but then started going into editing the sprite.

The original sprites, from Duck Hunt:

Enlarged the dog, placed the duck on its rump, turned them into silhouettes. My mom liked it, and she recognized it, what game they come from, said it was imaginative, said I should do it.

But, I suddenly had other ideas so with the full color dog started smoothing out the rough edges around the double sized mutt and before I know it I'm doing it for all the details, put the color back in the duck and now making color enhancements. Now I have no idea what I'm going to do. Keep working at this? But then what about the silhouette? I don't know now.

Just came back from a walk with Snickers, while out there on the way back we took a detour because the guys were working and had the forklift in the way so we went just a tad further down the hill, but I wanted to get out of the sun so took a shortcut behind some of the apartments, walking passed air conditioning units and money. Huh? $5 bill. Picked it up. Now, normally I don't pick up money off the ground, and its never been enough worth picking up, a penny or nickel, bah. But this'll do. If I had known who's it was they would have gotten it back, but being back there it could've been anyone's and dropped even days ago with no one passing by since, someone just walking through, maintenance guy, one of the construction workers who knows, oh well, mine now.  ;D Oh, and it was actually two $5 bills rolled up together. Yeah!  ;) I don't think I'd ever been so lucky on finding anything of value on the ground. I'm $10 richer and didn't have to do anything but be at the right place at the right time to find it before someone else eventually did.  :) Maybe I should use it to buy Snickers something special since without her I wouldn't even have had chance to come upon it since I wouldn't have been out walking in this heat.

I'm sorry to hear your not feeling well.I love your idea of putting the duck on the dog's rump -nice touch!

Kudos to you Megan! You found two $5. bills, cool. I wish I could be so lucky! I think you've a great idea. You should get Snickers a little treat. She did help you find the money. You could keep one fiver for you, and spend the other on her.

What did I do today? Well, went to town and washed clothes and to also pick up some yucky over the counter medicine. Other than that and being here on the website nothing much. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some much needed phone calls made. I just hate talking on the phone though, which is why I keep putting it off.

Thank you Ali. Hope you are feeling better now.

Yesterday I worked on a couple of small cross-stitches, nothing big deal, just some extra pieces to add to my small characters I had done last year, haven't even taken pictures yet, figure I get a few more done first.

Today I talked to a friend, on the phone.  :o Well, not quite the phone, actually Google Voice, so it acted as a phone, but laptop shut down during our conversation. Once I got things started again we tried again, and once again, shut down. Stupid laptop can't even handle this!  >:( Okay, this isn't going to work after all, we finished talking via email. Anyway had a good talk for what we did, and while I was nervous as hell about making the call once we got to talking I was comfortable, no reason to be scared after all. We'll try talking again, next time using a real phone. Nothing else noteworthy today. But hey, I finally got myself to call someone and actually talk using vocals and ears, not fingertips.  :)
