After a lot of research and a couple of reports from people that I know and trust and who actually came here to investigate the surgeon and the Femilife organisation, I decided to have my FFS performed by Dr. Pimentel, the maxillocranial surgeon who does these operations.  I am writing this actually from Lima as I am here at the moment having had my second set of surgeries (face lift, neck lift and cheek implants) a fortnight ago.
For the benefit of others, before coming out here I decided to start a blog about my experiences here and to give readers an insight into my life as a background to the whole issue.  By writing about it on a daily basis, that way my views would be recorded instantly and would not be coloured by anything which happened later on during the proceedings.  You can find my blog about it here:-
http://caroluren.blogspot.com
In summary, I have been thrilled with the results so far and the value for the money I paid are amazing, especially when you consider that all medical tests (bloods, ecg's, CAT scans) are included in the overall cost as well as 20 days accommodation.  The only extras you will have to find are your food (but you would have had to pay for that anyway) and any additional extras like presents for people back home.

I have amended my review in light of later happenings with Femilife

I will be also having FFs with Dr. Pimentel in Lima, Peru.  I've written Nikki with a tentative date (October 3rd 2012) and can't wait to hear back from her so that we can get the process started.  I've begun to journal about my experiences with the the process with femilife.  Just want others to see that there are other really great surgeons out there who offer full FFs at a more affordable price.  I've heard and seen nothing but great things from femilife and their staff and I am definitely looking forward to This October.

Hi Mia,

I'm so pleased for you and I'm sure that you will be just as thrilled with your results as I am with mine.  Everybody here is just so nice and friendly, they really do make you feel welcome in their country.  I have spent a really enjoyable 6½ weeks here and I'm so pleased I think I will be returning again next year for some further treatments (a small amount of lipo and a tummy tuck after I lost a lot of weight, purposefully I hasten to add, 3 or 4 years ago).
I also took advantage whilst I was here of their incredibly low prices for cosmetic dentistry - it worked out about one third the cost of having similar work done back in the UK, and although I had tentative bookings to have to work done when I arrived back in the UK, I saved £2000 ($3000) by having the work done here.  That saving alone will go a considerable way to paying for my tummy tuck next year.
Just a word of warning though if you wear a denture and plan on getting a new one whilst you are here.  If you are also having cheek implants done, this will alter the shape of your gum and any impressions done will no longer be valid after the cheek implants.

Well, I went out for lunch today with my two closest friends and as promised, they gave me their honest appraisal of the results of my surgeries.
They were both absolutely amazed and so pleased for me, especially the results from the face/neck lifts and the difference to my eyes, both of them loving the look which the surgeries had given me, saying I looked so much fresher and younger.  I didn't ask them if it made me look more feminine - it was not the sort of question to ask in a crowded restaurant lol.
S***** noticed the difference to my lips, but B***** didn't (I just think she was agog at the results from the other surgeries lol).  B***** loved the effect which the brow surgery had given me, which opened my eyes completely - and now wants to know  which eye makeup I am using so she can do hers in a similar fashion, which I thought was a huge compliment to myself and also (indirectly) to the work that Dr. Pimentel had done.
S***** also loved the dental work - and even jokingly asked would I bequeath them to her in any future will I made, which I thought was extremely funny (I'm still giggling now as I write this S*****).
So am I pleased that I went to Femilife for my surgeries???  The answer has to be a resounding "YES" based upon the totally honest opinions of my two closest friends, it was very worth it.
I even celebrated by buying a new pair of shoes and a handbag to go with the new face (well any excuse is better than none).

Well, much delayed because of pressure of some new voluntary work I have undertaken (I am retired) with the Samaritans organisation here in the UK where I am undergoing training at the moment, and I somehow managed to find myself elected onto an Independent Advisory Group for gender related matters working with the police force here, I finally got round to having some photographs taken by a friend of mine.

The larger images can be seen on my blog at  here, but I have posted a small preview below:-

Here is a before and after comparison - oh and I should point out that I'm 67, so anybody younger should see better results (click on the image to make it larger):-

Very encouraging in deed. Could be I'm next, though not in Peru... but Phuket.

Did you mention the price $$$ if I may ask, putting it into relation with procedures?

I'm trying to get a 'handle' on this.

As facelift is Baht 130k and chin reduction  Baht 80k ... the list seems rather long from 665k down to 270k and I have no idea what it all will do for me actually ...
Maybe you'd have some input for me?

Thank you for sharing great pics,

These are the things which I had done:-

Reconstructions of the forehead
Brow lift
Cutting and bossing the orbital rims (mine were quite prominent)
Feminization of the nose
Lifting the upper lip
Lifting of the middle, lower face and neck (major work)
Cheek Implants
Peeling laser to remove small wrinkles

Price included all medications, blood work and CAT scans of head and 40 nights accommodation in Lima

He did not think I needed any jaw work or tracheal shave, so these would be an additional cost - but would not add a huge amount to the procedures.

The total cost when I had mine done was $15,800

Hello Carol,I've been so curious as to your results from Lima.Absolutely fantastic to say the least.
I will deffinitely put Femilife back on my list.Quotes in the USA for similar are in the $30,000-$40,000 range so far.I'm heading out to San Francisco,California to meet with Dr O later this July.
I hope you are keeping well. You really look happy and amazing.
It should be nice weather in the British Riviera around now. I'm missing the quiet sturdiness of the homeland.
Talk with you later.Collette Michelle

Hi Collette,

Yes, I am really thrilled with the results and comments from friends and neighbours,  I would say that the only real drawback to Lima is what I termed the 'Mañana Principle' - everything is so laid back and life operates at a much different level than in the UK (or US I suspect).  If you can acclimatise yourself to this, you will be fine, but it is a bit of a culture shock.  This might also be true of Argentina, as it is a Spanish speaking country as well.  However I did find the people of Peru to be warm and friendly.

Unfortunately, it has been a year without a summer in the UK so far - just incessant rain and not very warm either.  If it continues like this, I might have to go back and get some webbed feet and hands done lol

After Nicky went back on her promise (see my blog to see why), when I needed my tummy tuck (and a few other procedures) I decided to go to Istanbul in Turkey instead to have these procedures done.

I am extremely pleased with the results so far and all the spare skin from round my tummy area was removed to give me a very flat tum now.  The labiaplasty went very well too (the results of SRS/GRS in the 1970's was not quiet as aesthetically pleasing as today's surgery).

Here's a picture (suitably clad of course) of my waistline now:-

Did the tummy tuck leave you with a large scar? Just wondering if there are new methods yet.
  •

Carol Uren

Hi Michelle,

Yes, unfortunately there is a scar which goes from hip to hip which is still a pinkish- red at the moment (2 months after surgery), but after all the ops I have been through I do know that this will fade away to virtually nothing after about a year - and in any case it falls below my pantie line, so unless I decide to go absolutely starkers on a naturist beach somewhere (highly unlikely at my age lol) then I will have zero worries.

There is also a small ½" to ¾" vertical scar where they pulled down the skin which would have resulted in a very unnaturally placed belly button, so during the operation, they remove the old belly button, suture the skin together there and create a new belly button (which is far prettier than the old one anyway) higher up where the belly button should be.  That scar has faded already and although it can be seen on closer inspection, this should be virtually undetectable in a years time.
