So I got hired for my summer job today (won't say where to protect their privacy) and I wasn't going to tell them about my name until they offered me the job. Well right at the end of the interview they offered me the job and so I blurted out at the end that I wanted Devin on my nametag.

Didn't work out so well. The interviewer (who've I've known for several years now and is my facebook friend and my name on facebook is Devin) got all awkward and stuff and said they have to put my birth name on my nametag until I get it legally changed (which I plan on starting the process for as soon as I get home for the summer). A little disappointing since I've been picturing going in there in guy mode right from the start this summer, but I guess I'll get through it...
I was considering writing a thoughtful e-mail that explains it better than my blurted out "I want Devin on my nametag" before they could hang up (it was a phone interview), but I'm worried that they might withdraw the offer for the position and suggest it might be better to be in a different position while I'm transitioning or something. But I'm still not sure how they're going to react when I show up in full guy mode this summer (last summer I had a shaved head and wore guy clothes, but I didn't bind and still shaved my legs). I feel like I should tell them, but I don't want it to ruin the leadership position for me. Ugggg.
