"A filmmaker from the Netherlands gathered videos of his daughter from birth to age 12 and created a nearly three-minute time-lapse video of his fast-growing little girl.

Frans Hofmeester recorded his daughter, Lotte, every week for 12 years, and used his editing skills to show how she transformed from a toothless infant to a long-haired 12-year old girl.

He also included some video clips of his son that looked much like that of his sister when she was still a baby. A number flashes on the right side of the screen to indicate Lotte's age."

as I watched this it triggered something in me that made me think of what "I" would have been like growing with a body to match what my mind was telling me....It left me sobbing for awhile...ouch

My own sister is two years younger than I, she was and still is pretty much the perfect girl version of me...as kids I would dream of us being "twin sisters" it was quite frustrating watching her grow up, but we were always best friends and got along very well.

This was very touching. To most people, it's probably just cute, but just like you, I felt envy and some kind of nostalgia, even though it's something I could never live. I didn't really cry, but I'm feeling like doing so. But even with this strange sadness, I feel happy, somewhat. Like when I see an a cute, happy family on the TV and feel happy imagining myself in it, but also sad and envious.

I'm all mixed up, but thanks for sharing this. It was beautiful.

yes...very touching I agree

even though I had to grow up in "boy mode" I had a wonderful childhood with fantastic parents...but it was a whole different era in the late 50's and 60's, the young trans kids now have fantastic chances and support to have a decent life.
