Depending on the size of a transguy's pecs, I figure it might be possible to condition your body to "normalize" a chest (and I mean being able to pass shirtless in public). Anyone have success, progress, failure here?

Also - only a curious question, but are there any trans fighters in the UFC? or do you know of any MMA fighters?

have a good day everybody

You might check out Heather Cassils. I don't think she actually identifies as trans (or I wouldn't call her she) but she's a performance artist and personal trainer/body builder. One of her projects she bulked up and her chest was barely noticeable straight on (check it out at http://cassils.wordpress.com/projects/ladyfacemanbody-2011/), but still not 100% male chest of course.

I would say though that you'd have to have a really small chest and do tons of working out to pull that off.

If you have a small chest it's easy. If you're a larger guy (in the chest) not so much. There was this one trans guy I saw he had been on T for a very long time but never had chest surgery. His fat redistributed where there was none left in his chest but he still had a lot of extra skin.

Perhaps if the guy had an extremely small chest to begin with, but he'd have to be extremely small and he would have to reduce his body fat to competitive bodybuilder standards (6-7%). Because of the nature of the fat in that area of the body, the body will try to retain the fat as long as possible. And you'd also have to deal with the loose skin after as well...which is another reason you'd have to have an extremely small chest to begin with. If you're average in chest size it would be next to impossible to build muscle to get rid of it. If you want a visual to compare to, there was a transguy in Lisa Lang's Our America episode on trans people. He was an amateur bodybuilder and still has to bind.

There are no professional MMA fighters who are transguys. And considering that competition rules in a lot of sports make it difficult for transguys (or trans people in general) to compete, I think it's unlikely we'll see it any time soon. A lot of transguys have had to give up their sport to transition.

There's always this guy...

Balian Buschbaum was an Olympic athlete and had to stop competing to transition hormonally.

He also had an injury (ankle maybe?) that forced him to retire as well.

Persistent injury and wanting to transition.

Yes, I know.  And it was ankle related (googled); it was his achilles tendon.

cool. so persistent injury, wanting to transition, and ankle related. Now that we've sorted that, back to Working out to strengthen and flatten chest. And also trans MMA fighters. If you are a small B or smaller, and have real work ethic, there is a chance you can fill up the space where your moob fat disperses with muscle and not need surgery. At the very least, though, you'd be giving yourself the best chance for peri surgery and therefor minimal scarring. Working out is always a good idea (unless health complications don't allow for it of course).
oh, and I'm not sure about trans MMA fighters. I know there was a guy on YouTube named Ky that was a boxer before he transitioned, but I'm not sure how that panned out after. I've always wanted to join an MMA gym, but I don't want to fight girls and worry about being weaker than guys. If I ever go on hormones I'll for sure be joining one.

Don't forget fat is not the only thing in the breasts.

For sure, that's why only really small chests coupled with crazy tough chest workouts could make them seem like there's no moobage there. If I go on T I'm gonna work out my chest like nobody's business before chest surgery because I want that peri.

And I'd imagine that there is a big chance ones nipples and areolas (?) are on the large side for a normal guy's chest.

Ofcourse, if you'd be passable and flat chested, people wouldn't doubt it, but it wouldn't look natural according to the 'standards'.

Can that be achieved without steroids?
If someone was really dedicated. How long do you think it would take the average person to reach something like that?

I am afraid that look is usually with steroids...but then steroids are derivatives of testosterone and a lot of these women are on test anyway.
That look is achieved by building up the muscle and then dieting down...

O_O

Not to get off subject, but holy crap, that person is hot as hell.

I mean, thanks for the info and stuff, but...damn.

(And just checked because I suspected: This is the guy from the Lady Gaga video. Huh.)

(Oh, and after a little bit of reading, yes, this person took a small amount of T, but the training was ridiculously intense.)
