Joelene,
Every time I read things like like that I'm reminded what magical little pills hormones really are.
Thanks for sharing that!

Biking better than running? Probably... By 1 %? In running you, uh, swing your arms. So more upper body exercise..? No, seriously, I think they're pretty much the same. xD

By the way, if you wanna swim but are afraid of the effects on your shoulders, you can try swimming another way. I'm sure there are swimming techniques that use more the legs and less the arms.
Glad to hear that, I like biking a lot, but I feel like I get such a better cardio exercise in when I run. Good to know that I can mix it up rather than just sticking to one that is better.

By swimming I kinda meant doing it for the training aspect like I used to do. I really don't think even using a kick board the whole time will really get me what I want. At least for the time being I think its something that I really have to let go of, hopefully to be picked up in the future when I'm closer to where I want to be. Also I'm starting to see some changes from estrogen that might be slightly difficult for me to hide, and I don't quite feel like I've got the body to rock a bikini to the building's pool (someone might be eating :P)

I think putting swimming on pause until you can wear a female swimsuit is probably a good compromise. By then, your muscle mass should have reduced, or at least, your "muscular dynamics" should be more female, which would mean that exercise shouldn't impact size as much... I think.

After you are on HRT, and your hormonal levels are in a female range, working out will impact muscular growth in the same manner it would to any other female. Guys get more muscles because of T, once that has been taken care of, you won't get so much growth.

I have let my muscles fade away after I began HRT and now I do the same amout of work the other girls do at the gym and get similiar growth, actually, sometimes I wish I could get MORE growth. My upper body strenght is in the weak range even for females. With this said, if you are an athlete you can expect to get some bulk, in the same manner other women do. It also depends on your genetics.

Just have patience and you will be fine.

I think cycling will likely work your butt muscles more than running does? I know before I cycled a lot I had absolutely no ass at all..
