You know you pass when...

Yesterday my wife took this picture of me and posted it on Facebook (I didn't think it was that great of a picture as I was squinting)

...

One of her friends (who had been off Facebook for the last 8 months and just logged back on) messaged my wife and said that she didn't know her husband had a twin sister. My wife then explained to her about me transitioning and she was in shock. After the shock her first question to my wife is, how is she handling being married to a woman now.

Awesome!!! :) Great pass!

Following the comments about voice:

I volunteer on an LGBT helpline.  Some callers will only talk to men and some will only talk to women.  It does rather matter to me that I'm clearly identified as a woman from the first "Good evening".

I woke up this morning with a UTI ( :( :( :( I mean, if I'm going to get UTI's, shouldn't I at least have a vagina???)

Went to the walk-in in clinic in my new neighborhood. Never been there before.

After asking whether I still had regular menstrual periods (Answer: "I never had periods"), she gives me instructions on collecting urine: "Before you start, wipe back to front. Be sure you wipe back to front."

Then went to see the doctor. Doctor asks if I had an vaginal bleeding. I say "I don't have one of those." He looks puzzled for a moment, and than catches on. "Are you a transsexual?"

Then proceeds to tell me he's writing a play and one of the characters is transgender. I offered to help him with the character (he might as well get it right...)
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?

Wow Suzi, lol, that's pretty awesome! Not the UTI part, but sounds like you're doing just fine in the passing dept.

An old friend of my wife came to our party yesterday whom I haven't seen in a couple of years.  She tried to introduce herself to me, when I fired back, "Hi[name], it's me, Jill."  The look on her face was priceless.

I knew I passed when my wife and I were crossing the road one day, and someone got mad at me for taking too long in the crosswalk.  I was walking a little slow because I was just getting the hang of heels, so someone leaned out of his window and shouted:

"Hurry the f*** up, you slow-@$$ b***es!"

Best insult ever.

btw I still semi pass ( sometimes I get gendered male some female) but let me post a passing moment

Its pretty simple , I was with a friend in a bar ... the waitress there saw me well and also heard my voice well
but she still said "what would you like girls?" that actually happened a couple of times now that I remember

Another nice one , I was sitting on a random bench with a friend and a random grandma passed by saying
" I wish I had your youth girls " XD

but yeah as I said I still get the young man , sir sometimes too...and it sucks XD

Today I stopped by a large retailer to shop for some new summer tops. I was looking at a display up on a wall when I noticed an older lady coming toward me pushing a shopping cart. The aisles were kind of narrow so I moved over to the side to give her room to get by me and I kept shopping without giving it another thought. Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder and the lady was going on and on about how I wasn't in her way but she appreciated me moving, and how narrow the aisles were, and then she wished me a happy mother's day with a kind smile on her face. I was totally speechless LOL..... but I managed to gather myself and smile and I told her thank you.

I think that's a pass.

Here in my country, unintended body touch is very common as the population density is so high.

Yes. Some aged women in the street touch or grasp my hands or shoulders. When I am in male mode, this never happens.

Just do it.

Was playing ultimate frisbee and being divided into teams. My team captain yells out 'wtf! give us another dude, we have 3 chicks on our team! and you have one!"

... The three chicks were me and my 2 friends hahaha

Alternatively: When i was male, i would sing high pitched female or power metal songs at karaoke and people would stare in amazement at the fact that a man could sing like a girl.

... but last time I went to karaoke... I was no more impressive than any other talented singing female that was there. Sucks lol but it proves that I pass better than i lead myself to believe. Now i'm just "a girl who can sing like a girl.... boring." LOL

My wife has been sick with breathing problems for the last 5 weeks. (At first they thought it was allergies, but they did some blood work and X-Rays today.) The good news is that there is no congestion and her oxygen level was fine. Unfortunately if might be asthma.

Anyway our normal doctor wasn't in and a new nurse practitioner came in and I was introduced as her spouse. My wife mentioned that she was late on her period by 2 weeks and the doctor asked if she could be pregnant. Them she looked at me with a "oops" look, and said never mind, that's not going to happen, I lost my head there for a second.

Haha similar thing happened to me with my dodgeball league that requires at least 3 females to be on the field for each team. EVERY single time I was on the field with only two other legal females the other team would tell us we needed another one. I'd raise my hand and point to myself, and I would receive the confused squinty eye of "wth are you pointing at yourself, dude."

My current favorite passing moment was while I was walking to a conference a few weeks ago with several classmates (all women). I was wearing business casual, and got catcalled by a bunch of highschool girls as we were walking by.

I got asked by a beautician the other day, before a treatment if I could be pregnant. Unfortunately not. Bitter sweet.

It wasn't a matter of passing, but when I went to church on Mothers Day morning - which was two months ago because I'm not in the USA - there were flowers for all the mothers.  Our minister made a point of making sure I got mine.  It's not passing because I joined this church before I transitioned.  Could I describe myself as my children's "other mother" now?

I went to Callen-Lorde health center (where I get my HRT) to get the second shot for my Hepatitis A/B vaccination. (I had never been vaccinated for either.) Anyway, I was directed to a different floor where the nurses didn't know me and the nurse asked what was their for and hadn't look at my chart closely. She handed my a form and ask if it was possible if I was pregnant. I told her that due to chromosome disorder in the form of a Y chromosome, that it wasn't possible. She laughed and sad that was the best one she's heard.
