Things got a bit awkward with my old hair dresser when I went full time (Long story)...so I was searching for a new salon.
One of my friend's wife happens to run a top class salon in the city "You should totally go see her" he said "She will give you an amazing do!"
So I went, and got the works done. Dying, Highlights, Trim, Styling, Advice everythign.
In the end I was there for over 2 hours, with such highlights including, having my hair wet and slicked back, exposing my abysmal "M" shaped hairline and Neanderthalic brow bone, horrid extended periods of "Hold your head back please darlin" when I was convinced my adams apple must have looked like a xenomorph trying to burst out of my throat, and partaking in so much chatting and laughing, that I was convinced my voice must have messed up several times, sounding like a barrel of gravel being thrown down a wet cliff edge...
But still, I stayed confident and came away from it all happy, I had spent a few hours surrounded by awesome pretty women who were dedicated to making me look the best I could...and with a rocking new hairdo to boot!
The shock came later, when I was talking to my friend about the experience, and said "I'm really surprised by how well it went...people normally don't treat me that nice and normal, especially those in high fashion type establishments. Being trans does not normally go down well with those types of looks obsessed people..."
I've never seen him look so smug before in his life...
"Oh...I didn't tell them you were trans" He proclaimed proudly "In fact I told my wife afterwards, I asked what was happening behind the scenes etc...and not a single one of the girls in the salon clocked you! They didn't have a clue! They all just through you were a funny and confident woman who needed some fashion advice So you must be doing something right!"
Well...after picking my jaw up off the floor from this monumental discovery...I had the best...day...ever xD
