Things got a bit awkward with my old hair dresser when I went full time (Long story)...so I was searching for a new salon.

One of my friend's wife happens to run a top class salon in the city "You should totally go see her" he said "She will give you an amazing do!"

So I went, and got the works done. Dying, Highlights, Trim, Styling, Advice everythign.

In the end I was there for over 2 hours, with such highlights including, having my hair wet and slicked back, exposing my abysmal "M" shaped hairline and Neanderthalic brow bone, horrid extended periods of "Hold your head back please darlin" when I was convinced my adams apple must have looked like a xenomorph trying to burst out of my throat, and partaking in so much chatting and laughing, that I was convinced my voice must have messed up several times, sounding like a barrel of gravel being thrown down a wet cliff edge...

But still, I stayed confident and came away from it all happy, I had spent a few hours surrounded by awesome pretty women who were dedicated to making me look the best I could...and with a rocking new hairdo to boot!

The shock came later, when I was talking to my friend about the experience, and said "I'm really surprised by how well it went...people normally don't treat me that nice and normal, especially those in high fashion type establishments. Being trans does not normally go down well with those types of looks obsessed people..."

I've never seen him look so smug before in his life...

"Oh...I didn't tell them you were trans" He proclaimed proudly "In fact I told my wife afterwards, I asked what was happening behind the scenes etc...and not a single one of the girls in the salon clocked you! They didn't have a clue! They all just through you were a funny and confident woman who needed some fashion advice So you must be doing something right!"

Well...after picking my jaw up off the floor from this monumental discovery...I had the best...day...ever xD

On father's day, I went to the drug store with my little girl for some first aid supplies.  Waiting in line, the cosmetics worker walked over looked at me and said "I can help you over in cosmetics, maam."  Since I'm not really used to being gendered anymore (much less a proper gendering... not to mention male clothes, hair up, AND hadn't shaved in almost 2 days... ick...) I kinda looked around and realized with glee, oh yeah, of course that's me!  As I walked over I realized, ok, that was nice BUT of course she is going to correct as once Im closer shes going to realize... beardshadow... hairline.. clothes... looked around when called maam... As she was ringing it up, she asked if Id like to buy one of the razors that where on sale.  I just KNEW shed figured it out, and started to say I don't really need one, and she interjected "No honey, a gift for your husband for fathers day" looking down at my little one.  I really don't know if I usually pass at all, but that was a fairly blatant male fail to me, blatant enough that I decided to go out after and get some nice makeup as a gift for fathers day.

Is that the new one in your profile, pic? You look wonderful!
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Three days ago I went out to a bar for the first time as a woman... So far I was only walking out with friends, going to shops or visiting someone's place, but never at cafes or bars...
Well, I was dressed... let's say "brave" :D - Short jeans skirt, black thights, black and white grunge-styled tank top... not much makeup - just black eyeliner and few shades, lip gloss...
I was seeing friends of mine, but there were few people in the company, I didn't know, so I introduced my self to them. We talked a lot and all the time, noone was looking strange, they were using female pronouns and behaved perfectly normal. Even one of the guys showed a little bit more than ordinary interests to me  ::)
Then I went to another bar to see another friend and we sat there for hours... the bar gradually filled up with people, but noone stared at me in "that way" - the clocking one. I was obviously seen as a woman - not a single strange look... but several passionate ones... and guys leading conversations as well ::) Aparently, that's what it is to be a tall, slim blonde in a short skirt, in a bar - you just draw attention :D

I suppose this story means I pass ;)
Nice pass Aquarelle, with those legs of yours in a short skirt your definitely going to attract attention. I've actually been avoiding bars like the plague for this very reason. Though I may not be blonde, I'm already getting more attention from guys than I ever wanted. :icon_blah:

You're hot Aquarelle so get used to it girl!! It's only going to get better!

my best passing moments have been when me and my mom were out and I was wearing boys clothes and no makeup and we got called "ladies". Or when I went into the guys bathroom dressed as a guy in guy mode and an employee tells me this is the mens room not the ladies room, then takes a second looks me up and down and blushes and apologizes

That made me get all kindsa happy just reading it. What an amazing experience that must have been for you :D That's how I feel when I'm speaking with customers and they tell me stuff like "Ugh, women" or "We men...". It's incredible. I'm glad you got to be surrounded by people that treated you as you should be treated.

That's very easy to believe based on your avatar pic, Anna. I think it may be time for you to give up mensrooms.

Thanks ^^ but that was pre-salon. Not really got any great pics of the new hair yet, this is the only one I have taken so far:

The photo doesn't really pick up all the highlights etc though (got some lovely vivid red and copper parts throughout) but you get the idea.

(EDIT: Also despite what it looks like...I do actually own more than one top xD)

I got stopped by the police while driving (I was a naughty girl). He checked my licence on the computer and said, why does it say you are male?

Damn I thought I'd had that changed was my reply.

Yes you need to, it is a criminal offence to have false details on your licence record. Then he let me go with a warning and a smile.

He was cute too ::)

I am genuinely concerned about that right now xD Still going through all the change of name/gender on documentation stuff. My drivers licence has the wrong, name, gender, photo and home address...might have difficulty explaining that one away x'D

You look really nice Danniella. The new hairstyle fits you. No, I always knew you had more tops. You just probably have a favorite one like me, lol!!

I love your necklaces too.

This week I had a fun one.

The usual real estate agents that make their rounds in my neighborhood came to my door when I was outside.  They asked me if I was the owner of the house, to which I replied, "Yes."

One of them told me how much I looked like my husband.

Hell, I'll take it.  ;D

Cool pass Jill. Were you surprised at all, or did you just roll with it?

I just rolled (my eyes) with it.   We'll see if they figure it out one day.

That a pretty good pass.  He could see the similarity but still didn't realise why.
